Awesome Costco deal!!

My Costco receipt says 90 days, however, the contract I signed for Verizon states a 14 day return policy.

Right below you :)

All of the costcos around me (5 of them) have a sign posted that says ".....90 day return policy....." I would go in and complain. The 14 day contract is for the service..not the phone. You can only cancel your service before the 15th day, but you can exchange a phone up to 90 days.

Exactly

I just got mine from Costco in Vegas. Returned my TBolt (would have returned it anyway.. kept crashing and locking on me, but the exchanged for the Bionic with no problems. And the goodie bag is awesome! The screen is not as good but it was bright and readable outside which was a first for me! Love the Bionic!!!

I got my Bionic today. I had to wait an hour for the phone to arrive and another hour to activate It.

They said 3 of their sales yesterday were exchanges (sounded like mostly charges). They didn't seem happy about it but they do it up to 90 days. They acted like they would like to change that policy. I think it varies by store.

Also two of the six phones they got today were purchased by employees (I watched them being activated while mine was being activated)... I think that may have happened the previous day too (but no proof).

They said they thought they might get more phones on Saturday, but were getting more on Monday for sure. He thought they would probably sell out like this for a week. He had a long list of customers that were waiting on phones.

Well I just got back from swapping out my Charge. I got the last one of their second shipment. I had no problem with exchanging the Charge. She even asked me if I really did have problems with the charge or I just wanted the bionic. I said both really. I have had tons of issues with the charge but did hold off specifically for the bionic.

Only problem I had was that I forgot to bring the wall charger with me so I had to go back home to get it and come back. They did agree to hold the last one for me under the circumstances.

I haven't gone through the bag of goodies yet but will be doing that shortly.

After going to three Costco's, I finally got a Bionic. I knew the guy at the last place but it was the furthest away coincidentally. Returned the X2 as a device exchanged, paid the difference, got the goodie bag and everything's been great so far. I'm amazed at how powerful this phone is, the stock Motoblur is very smooth.

First of all thanks for all the help. How do I look up my signed contract online? I want to bring in all the documents when I raise hell about this tomorrow.

Um not sure I bought my Charge from the physical Costco store so I had my contract they gave me when I bought it.

Got the Bionic today from Costco in Carlsbad, CA (San Diego area). The key was to be there at 11. The Fed Ex shipment arrived around 11, the manager asked to give them 15 min to inventory the box (they got 9 phones) and then proceeded to sell me one of them. They said more coming Monday. Have been playing with the phone since then and am VERY happy. I am hard to please (esp when it comes to displays and battery life) and I am blown away by the Bionic. Great speeds also. Puts my trusty and beloved Droid X to shame.

Oh and yes, I read my kindle book in the sunlight today on the Bionic and it was fantastic. So happy to be able to see the screen outside! Katherine

Wow so many of you also having troubles with different Costcos saying different things about their policies! I thought I was the only one!

But I had a kiosk rep and a manager both tell me that I couldn't exchange phones because there was a "contract" issue with giving me a new phone for the subsidized price. I asked them why that is because I could return the phone for another of the same phone, what's the difference if you're just returning for a different phone and paying the difference in price? I really wish that there was just one uniform policy rather than it varying from store to store so much. Sounds to me that it's really up to the discretion of the warehouse as to what they honor and what they don't.

I don't know but through it all I finally got my Bionic, but it's not actually in my hands yet. It will be tomorrow though when I finally get home! I'm so excited.

Edit: Just called Costco returns, they are saying that there is a 30 day return policy on cellphones, yet my receipt states that there is a 90 day return policy on all electronics including cell phones, and the gentleman I talked to while buying my Charge two months ago also said it is a 90 day policy.

Remember there is a difference between a "return" policy and an "exchange" policy. The 90-day policy is an exchange policy, so the Costco returns person you spoke to may have been confused on wording.

Anyway, all of your posts on this have led me to believe that if the Nexus/Droid Prime comes out within 90 days and I want to exchange for it, I probably shouldn't go in on launch day as they may be hesitant to exchange one of their limited supply stock for me. I might wait a week until they have more shipments in before going in for my exchange.

Lastly, is anybody else having a problem with the car cradle thing not keeping the phone at the angle you want? Mine keeps tilting downwards while driving to the point that I can't see the display.

The bionic shows up on costco.com now (or at least the skinned page from the third party). There's two things that are prevening me from pulling the trigger on there: 1) the photo for the accessory package is different (but oddly shows the accessories we've been seeing elsewhere). and 2) when selecting to keep the current plan, there is still a prompt forcing to add one of the tiered data plans. from what people have said the in-store experience allowed retaining unlimited data, but i don't trust those prompts on costco.com! I can't get to a store for a few days and was considering ordering online - but not with those questions.

has anyone ordered from the website and if you have what accesories did you receive, the website only shows car charger leather holster and screen protector. if thats all thats included by purchasing only online then ill just buy it at vzw.

Yes, I ordered it from Costco on day one. But then I cancelled the order when DH found it at a local Costco the next day. Basically, once you place the order, you have to call them and say you want the unlimited plan still. Then you have to call VZW and tell them you bought it from Costco online AND you want the unlimited plan. Then they will let you keep your data plan.

Also, lady informed me that the phone is shipping after a 5 day "processing" (that's 5 business days!) and then ships via UPS 3-5 days more (coming from WA). So about 2 week wait. Bundle she said is the same as at local Costco.

When I heard all this nonsense, I decided to cancel it and find it locally. So glad I did because it's day 3 of the release and I have been enjoying my new phone and all the cool accessories from Costco very much! Based on my limited experience, I would say STAY away from the online ordering right now...

By the way, people who are ordering the phone from VZW direct over the phone are getting their first month FREE, which is about a $100 savings! You should ask if you can too.

I'm gonna be call Wireless Advocates' Customer Service line Monday afternoon and hopefully get a straight answer out of these guys.

Hey I kinda want the Bionic, though unsure. I cant pay full price. Im looking forward to the costco deal, can use the 100$ vzn trade in gift card for the phone?

And whats this "free month" thats Verizon doing?

its either this or the droid 3.. pretty much the same devices.but camera quality matters most.

no, Costco has one price for all who are adding a new line or eligible for a 2 year upgrade, they don't take VZW gift cards - their current bonus is the accessory pack and not bad if you want those two docks and an extra standard battery

For new Verizon customers, Costco gives a rebate form for the $35 activation fee. It definitely makes the Costco deal a bit more sweet for new Verizon customers.

I think the deal is different online for the accessories bundle. I started another thread, but everyone in here has gotten the 2 dock and battery bundle correct? I should be picking one up tomorrow if my local Costco has a shipment in and there isn't a line there already lol.

The bundle I got from Costco was the two dock + battery/battery cradle bundle. It also had a useless belt phone case.

One thing I heard from the Costco reps was that Motorola was running out of batteries so the next shipments won't come with the battery yet, but a raincheck for a battery.
