Awful rear video quality...to soft/blurry

Hey guys,

Got this phone thinking it was going to be amazing for the camera and wow....the let down...

Using 1080p 60fps rear camera, everything thats not in focus looks extremely blurry/soft, its terrible, its even worse if you zoom out to 0.6x

Is there something I'm missing? Pretty close to getting rid of this phone....

This video is a good example, not mine but if you look from 9seconds onwards, look at the stop sign and the car, very blurry.

It’s impossible to tell anything. Whoever made that is moving and swinging the phone around way too much and too fast. I can’t even watch it.

It appears to be a focus issue. For whatever reason it can't seem to keep focus. I'll have to give it a try with mine.

Hey, got this problem too, what's up with that? I love this phone, but this bug disappointed me. Every other setting is fine, but the 60 fps? Everything is blurry and soft like you described. I hope that's just a software issue that they are going to address.

Just had the 146 update and video seems to be a lot better .

Subpar video is a known issue with this phone.

Got 146 update, but it doesn't seem like the quality got any better, still there are problems with focus. Like @z06mike said, it could be just a focus issue I guess.
If you think you got better quality with 146, it could be a placebo effect The patch notes didn't say anything about camera and focus.

Bumping the thread to see if anyone else experienced this problem on mate 20 or the pro version.

Exact same problem. Emailed them about it. Hope they will fix it. Seems like they update the mate 20 pro more regularly

Everyone will have it. See my post above (#7). It’s a known “problem”.
