Really sold on v20 since I need to return my Note 7. I do have few questions though.

1- Is there any other way to unlock the phone besides the back button? If my phone is laying on my desk with passcode on, and I receive a text message, does that mean I need to pick it up and hit the back button instead of just touching on the screen?

2- Is it true that secondary screen bar on the top of the screen has only certain apps that LG put? Meaning that I can't put my most used apps?

Thanks,

If it's like the V10 then there are a myriad of ways to unlock, including automatically unlocking if a trusted Bluetooth device is detected.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be true, including knock-on to wake the screen without pressing any buttons. Just double tap the screen to wake it, then type in your PIN/passcode.

Not sure how the secondary screen app selection works, but the reviews I've seen on it say it's pretty useful.

Double-knock the screen, it wakes up. If you have passcode, you can enter it. Or, if you're set up with a secure location or bluetooth device, it will unlock with that and all you have to do is swipe to get to the home screen.

Or, if you get a text, just watch it scroll on the second screen.

You are not limited by LG or anyone else as to what app shortcuts you put on the second screen. You are limited by quantity--5, as I recall.

Is it possible to deactivate the 2nd screen? Or at least schedule when it would be on? I don't think I would want that on all the time, especially on the nightstand while I'm sleeping or if it's in my pocket.

I've read it was possible to disable the second screen. I also remember reading on the V10 it barely sipped any power and didn't make a big impact on battery life.

You can't put it on a schedule, but you can tell it to always be on/off while the main screen is on and also tell it to always be on/off while the main screen is off.

If you opt to keep it on, it shouldn't stay awake while in your pocket. The proximity sensor should prevent that. I don't have a V10 to test that theory, though. However, past G3 and G4 phones wouldn't even turn the main screen on if the proximity sensor was covered.

They aren't supposed to, but I had to deactivate knock-on on my G4 because it recently became buggy and would turn itself on in my pocket. DX

If left face down would proximity sensor shut it off?

Theoretically, yes.

In fact, yes.

I have always turned my phones face down, V10 included. And that turns off the second screen.

I remember reading somewhere a discussion about "you'd be crazy to put your phone down with the screen down!" or some such twaddle. Well, I want to--for a host of reasons. It works great.
