Back cover not sitting flush

Got the V20 a week ago and loving it. The other night I took my back cover off out of boredom, and upon putting it back on I noticed that the right side (cover release side) was not sitting flush. I tried removing and putting it back on a couple times to see if I could get it back flush, but no change.

It's not a major gap by any means, but there's clearly space between the bezel and cover all along the right side...It's noticeable by a rough edge feeling, and also by pressing down on the cover and seeing the space close. The left side is perfectly smooth. I don't know if it's always been like this or what, or if I'm just hyper sensitive to these things. Is anyone elses like this? I can almost swear it was 100% flush.

Feel like this is something they'd raise their eyebrows at and tell me to go on my way.

I'm assuming you bought it from a carrier or reputable a store.

If it's wrong it's not right... It's not closed.... Compare it to a demo or let show you another and demand a replacement.

The device is 100% flush, LG made sure everything looked great. Try pushing it in more on all corners. Maybe bring it back to the place you got it and switch it out? Worst case scenario you can send it to LG.

I've done that, many times. I ordered a new back on Amazon for $20 so I'll see if that does the trick. If not I may just bring it back to Verizon.

It might not be the back itself.... It may be the latching system. If you call Verizon, they will ship you a new one if it's less than 14 days with literally no hassle.

Unfortunately tomorrow is the 14 day mark and I'm away from home until Tuesday.

Also, if I push down on the cover such that it's touching the bezel all along the right edge, there's still a gap. It's hard to describe...Almost as if the bezel itself is hanging over the back cover. Which is why I'm giving the new back cover a shot.

Oh, I had posted about this same thing about a month ago and had figured out a fix.

Press down on the cover while holding the cover eject/release button in. I think something needs to slide past it to get a good fit. I got the idea while examining the mechanism. It has a spring loaded slider.

Reached out to Verizon support via online chat. They said I could request replacement...then confirmed I can go to a store to swap it out after I asked if I could. As expected, I was pretty much laughed at. The display model was practically the same, and he was dead set on making sure that I knew that what I was describing as a problem was not really a problem. The guy said, "We can replace this for you, but if this keeps happening you're going to have to reach out to LG directly as we can't just keep swapping out phones."

Upon returning from the back room where he probably laughed with all his coworkers, he says they can't do a brand new replacement because it's out of 14 day window, so I'll have to contact Verizon for a certified like new replacement. F' it. Not even worth it at this point.

Did you try my suggestion? It has been fine ever since. I've even taken it off and on a few times.

If you call Verizon and explain the Situation they should be able to make an exception

That's too bad. :( Mine is tight as can be now.

My camera hump, mentioned in that other thread, is still iffy but I didn't want to go through the return process. LG has a 10-14 day turnaround time. If it were apple I could walk out of the mall with a new phone.

I hear ya. At this point it's whatever. There's no guarantee if I get a certified like new it won't come back with even worse issues. So I'll just deal.

Well, popped the new back cover on today. Guess what...snug as a baby in a mother's arms!!!! I must have bent the back cover when I took it off without even realizing...which sounds crazy?

Great that it works for you... Enjoy the phone.

Thanks. My fiance makes fun of me how much I care about phones, but it was really bumming me out. There's no feeling worse than knowing there's something wrong with what you just shelled out big cash for.
