SO....I'm taking off the case to clean it, and I see the back of the phone starting to unseal. To be clear, I've never done any work on it or gone into it. So, I'm suspect/fear the battery expanded and pushed it up? But maybe it just lost the seal. Any other thoughts, please advise.

I was thinking of replacing that battery. That's a definite yes now, and they can seal down that back at the same time.

I had the exact same issue about a year ago. Battery swelling. Had a local shop repair it within an hour under the Samsung+ warranty.
I have an appointment at a repair place on Friday. They said they had a battery in stock and could get this done for me on the spot in a couple of hours. So I am hopeful it will be quick and easy.

Wow! Good thing you caught it in time. (y)

It's a good reminder to all of us who do not change our cases often, to pull off those cases & check.
I'm not sure how fast it was, because a couple of months ago I noticed that my case was kind of bulging a little on the right side and I started using a different push impact point to turn it on and off. I just thought it was a defect in the case.

At this point I'm thinking more that it was a defect in the back of the phone causing the case to bulge a little!

In any event, nothing else happened that was bad, everything kept working, and hopefully tomorrow fixes everything. I do have a 26 ultra in my sights when they come out, but that's a ways away. One way or another, this repair is just a stopgap.

I will say, every time I look up there seems to be some new incident with rechargeable batteries. I noticed some problems on consumer safety reports with certain Anker power banks recently too. (Happily, not the models I bought.)

I hear new technology is being experimented with, but it can't get here fast enough.

Even Anker.....which I thought was generally reliable. I have a Zolo btw--but not the 20k model, the magsafe 10k
Wow!! 😲 You just never know....

I have a really old heavy Anker Power bank tucked away. I probably should drag it out & inspect it for the sake of safety. I haven't used it for a couple of years. Too heavy.

I have some bigger ones too, like this:

That's too big to stick in a pocket for sure. I tend instead to take my Zolo mag safe 10k with me most of the time--it's light and easy, and big enough. But for travel, if I'm away for the day--or on vacation for weeks--this bigger one is great, and I'm always carrying some sort of bag. And I love that it has cables built-in. (So does the Zolo, although as a mag safe type charger, it can also be wireless.)

The bigger one does need to be tossed in a bag rather than a pocket, but it's not that heavy considering 25k capacity and 165w output, and included cables. I rather love it. All things in their time and place.:)

That's a great feature, having the cables built in. (y)

I probably should get a more practical portable size.

My Anker 20100 appears fine & is holding it's charge. I bought it in 2016, 20,100mAh for $33.00. 🤣

I forgot I also had the Anker PowerPort 5 in the case. (40W 5-Port USB Wall Charger, $20.00 ) Those prices ... 🤯
