Gave the s9+ and the iPhone x a shot ... But back on the the 2 xl in panda. The camera just can't keep me away .....

While I didn't have the pixel first I to had the s9 plus and iPhone x. Both great devices but so far I'm enjoying the pixel more. It's been 5 days and I am still content.

I got annoyed by the extra Bixby button. Keep accidentally press it. The curved edge are useless. Reading text at the edges look distorted. Can't find a good screen protector without spending $50. I definitely don't want to create an account with Samsung. The fewer accounts, the better. Stay with Pixel is the best choice.

The more time goes on, the more I think curved edges are gimmicky and a liability as far as durability goes.

Though i would prefer a flat screen, if it's just that glass that's slightly curved like the Pixel I can live with it. Samsung curving the actual display is a dealer breaker even though I wouldn't buy the Samsung for other reasons I'm the first place.

I’m struggling between the X and 2XL. I can’t seem to make up my mind. What do you like more about the Pixel?

I haven't used the iPhone X, so I couldn't say what's better. However, something I've always loved about Android is the freedom to do what you want, more or less. The thought of being trapped in the Apple ecosystem has always been so unappealing to me.

I have the Pixel 2 XL and S9+ in hand. I love the Pixel, but wow the speakers are good on the S9+. Camera is crap unless you're outside tbough. Such a tough decision!

Just get both..you know you want to (and will eventually!!!!) :-) I had the X and it's a great phone with a lot of good qualities. The screen is great and I really started to like the gestures. But like all iphones, no matter how great the phone hardware is, it's still the same old iOS with the same lack of customization that always frustrates me within a month or two of using it. I'm manically switching between the 2XL and the S9+ now and for the first time I think I'm just going to keep both instead of agonizing over trying to choose. Of course everything will get complicated again when the Note 9 gets announced. I need therapy......

You’re no help! Not sure the Mrs. would be that excited about me carrying around $2k worth of cell phones! There are things I like about both. And things I don’t like.

Apple products are made for simple, stylist but often not very practical for using. It also limited to Apple products only. Google on the other hand is not known for style (though beginning to) but the functionality is far more advanced than Apple and not limited to just Google products. The Pixel 2 XL is no exceptions. You need to see beyond the look and the camera. There are so many AI built-in to the phone. From the phone app with "scam alert" Google Assistant and many others... Your experience is far better than using the boring iPhone. Buy an iPhone for the look but buy a Pixel or the experience.

My iPhone X also has a scam alert

As someone who use both IOS and Android every day, I don't think one is simpler than the other when it comes to usage. Android allows for more customization but it's still not complicated. There are some things I actually find more intuitive on Android so in some respects I find it easier to use. It's probably harder for people to break things on IOS which leads people to say it's a simpler device. In the end it's up to the user to decide what's simpler and better built to handle their tasks.

I had the Pixel 2 XL for about 2 weeks before I shipped it back and went back to iOS. What pulled me back was I really enjoyed my Apple Watch and couldn't find something I considered comparable on Adroid Wear (Watch OS), missed the consistency of signal/loss of features of my AirPods, and the blue shift of the 2 XL was just a noticeable nuisance (especially for the cost of the device). Also USB-C seems seemed like a bit of a mess compared to Lightning. I probably could have eventually gotten over the blue shift if Google had wireless buds & a watch on par with Apple. Loved the software and camera of the Pixel though. When the Pixel 3 comes out, I'll look at giving Google another shot, but for now I'm happy with the iPhone X.

I'm curious how USB C is a mess compared to the lightning connector. I have both and dont see a big difference except I have seen lightning connectors break.

Agreed. I can walk around here at work and see a dozen lightning cables on random peoples desks with varying degrees of breakage and they are still trying to milk them out to the point of wrapping tape on them (scotch tape even for some) and it blows my mind. My wife was going through a lightning cable every six months till I got her an Anker Powerline+ that finally stopped that. IDK what people do to these cables but I've never broken and frayed a cable an inch before the connector be it now with USB-C nor with Micro USB, I've used cables for several years with no problems. IDK what apple makes their cables from but its cheap because they don't hold up to the abuse people give them like a good cable does.
