So since the Note 7 fiasco I've taken a pretty winding path with phones, and I just wondered what some of your thoughts are. I ended up with a V20 after the N7->GS7 edge-> N7 shenanigans, and the V20 turned into a total failure for me for many reasons. At that point I got an iPhone 7 plus, something I swore I'd never do. Ended up being okay with iOS, but am simply bored and missing the customization of android.

The other day i came across the deal Samsung is offering and am now getting an unlocked S8+ for $525, which to me is unbeatable. I miss the Samsung displays and cameras like crazy, but I'm weary of the famous lag occurring again. I expect to be happy with this phone, but coming back from iOS do you think this is a good move?

Imho it depends if you have an ocd about lags as you very well might experience slight lag/stutters here and there but i've got my s8+ for over a month and besides those occasional hiccups haven't seen anything major or deal breaker.

On a side note: Ios can never have what android has since apple's ecosystem is completely closed off compared to google which lets manufacturers do what they want with android. If you experience lag issues or think it's too "laggy" for you i'd suggest trying to customise it first (new launcher, themes, icons etc) if after doing that you still can't like it then simply go back to the iphone or wait for the note 8,iphone 8.
