Hello all,

First off, I would like to say that I will be buying the HTC One regardless of this observation since I think it is the best smartphone out there for now.

I have been looking at dozens of photos from the HTC One throughout several websites and they all have a few things in common:

1) Excellent low light performance (second, in my opinion, to Nokia Lumia 920)
2) Fast shooting speeds
3) Mediocre daylight, or well-lit performance.

The third one is where I kinda am dissappointed. For all the hype HTC has put into the camera, I would think that it would be well rounded. Looking at the several reviews, and pictures on flickr as well, it seems like the regular daylight performance of the camera is not very good. The colors are not half as vibrant as what one would get with an iPhone 5 or Nokia Lumia 920. Looking at pictyures of landscape, it seems like the HTC One's photos are heading towards a black and white tint.... I should say they have very little contrast and saturation. The colors don't pop out and they are boring.

Does anyone else see this? Also, any way to change the settings for default on saturation and contrast??

Thanks.

The few in the Asian landscape.

I am just curious if anyone is seeing the same thing. A lot of people say the camera is amazing, but what I see on my screen does not agree.... It's good, but I think worse than iPhone 5 and Lumia both, which are older devices.

Most professional reviews agree with you and it's the Achilles heel of an otherwise decent flagship.
