On all of my other phones this was so easy. How can I easily back up my Note 2 to a laptop? It is unrooted.
Thanks!

What type of backup are you looking to do? Maybe a better question is what phones in the past were you doing this with?

Normally rule of thumb is you can only backup DATA if your rooted.

Depends on what you want to back up but I just saw this on lifehacker this morning-
SnapPea Manages Your Android Phone from Your Windows Desktop:

SnapPea is like another app called airdroid but does more. It's only for use on your computer because you have to install the companion computer files whereas with airdroid you can access from any browser so it doesn't require any computer files.

Have you tried Samsung kies?
I only ran it once so I don't remember what else it backs up besides pics & contacts.

Kies wouldn't let me back it up.It kept telling me my phone wasn't supported.

Blackberry was by far the best. I had it set to where everytime I charged the phone it would create a back up of anything and everything I set it to.

Until the ICS update I used Motorola's phone portal. It also made a back up file every tim I plugged it in. It would back up calendar, contacts and media

I just recently downloaded "Android Sync Manager" to my computer and Thunderbolt and it is a wireless sync between phone and computer. It seemed to work great, but haven't had time yet to really look through it yet. It is in Google play store, free app.

Sent from my Thunderbolt. Hoping to be a Galaxy Note ll owner Soon!

What are trying to back up? Android syncs with google so all contacts and calendar appointments are continually backed up. Also you can set back up of all aps and network settings. Pictures and back up live to dropbox, google+ and i think there other other options. So whole phone is backed up live and available online.

I changed from droid x to note 2 and all i had to do is log in and i was up and running. Nothing lost at all and my wifi settings even came back. So easy WOW!':-)

I am interested in backing up my S Planner calendar.
It is synced with Google Calendar, so every invitation thru gmail shows up on my phone.
But, appointments which I enter in the phone do not show up on my PC Google calendar. I tried the sync command on the phone, but it is not updating Google calendar.
How do I get Google to add S Planner appointments?
thanks

When on your phone, make sure that your using your Gmail account of choice while creating/editing a event. Usually the defaults to the phones calendar, not your Gmail calendar.
