I don't quite understand the background data and auto-sync settings.
If I have background data on and auto-sync on, then I can choose which apps I want to sync in the background. For example, I have mail, twitter and weather turned on, but everything else off.
If I turn background data off, auto-sync is also turned off. I assume this means background services will not update.
But what if I have background data on and auto-sync off? All of the apps get grayed out. Does that mean they will not sync in the background? Then what does background data do?
I just want a setup where messages, mail, twitter, weather and one or two other apps sync data in the background, either by pushing or by scheduled time.
