I am getting ready to root my evo but I have a couple questions about backing the device up. I know that rooting the phone erases the apps and texts and everything, but is there any way to save texts and reload them after rooting? Also, after rooting, does a nan backup or titanium backup save texts? If so, can you reload them onto another rom if I wanted to try something else? Thanks so much!

To the best of my knowledge you dont lose any data by rooting.

You will lose all data while rooting, I dunno why you want to save the texts but maybe you should type the stuff you need onto google docs and they will be there wherever you go.

If its pictures you want to keep, save en to the sd card. The sd card will not need to be erased.

There's actually an app in the market that will fwd your SMS messages to your gmail account, it comes in pretty handy for this reason.

I typed in "save sms text messages android" into google and found "SMS Backup". I've used that app before when flashing a new ROM for my friend.

A little bit of google goes a long way... ;-)
