backlit keyboard settings lost on reboot

[Android Central Question]

Am enjoying my samsung galaxy chromebook (open box at best buy...good deal!) but one question: when I reboot the keyboard backlighting must be reset again (alt + brightness key) and I have disabled ambient lighting in settings, but it still does it. Any ideas on how to keep keyboard lighting permanent and stable?

That feature is probably device-specific, so not having a Galaxy Chromebook myself, I can't say for sure if there's a way to have the device remember your keyboard backlight settings. My guess is that it won't -- all of my Chromebooks will always default to screen brightness somewhere in the middle, even though I always adjust it upward, so if that happens with the screen, the same thing will probably also happen with the keyboard backlight.

Yes, the default setting on the Galaxy Chromebook for keyboard backlight is 'off'. So, backlight will always be off when you log back on.
I am new to Chrome OS, from Windows. Definitely a painful change at times. I sure do love this Galaxy Chromebook. Just have to roll with the punches until I am assimilated. lol

Once you get used to using your chromebook you will love it. I have a really old Windows laptop for certain tasks, but my main laptop is a pixelbook and I just love using it.

Thanks for the encouragement. lol This Galaxy Chromebook is amazing. I am not interested in the Galaxy Chromebook 2 they just released either. This Chromebook is better and the battery life is not an issue for me. It is for hotel use & I am always near an outlet. I knew it wouldn't bother me because the battery on my 6 year old HP went kaput and it hasn't bothered me. Besides, it lasts me about 4 hrs. I'm never on it for more than that. And yes, I will keep the HP for certain tasks.
BTW, was a coin toss between the Galaxy & the Pixelbook.
