This thread was about the Moto G3, a phone. You're asking about the physical keyboard on your Chromebook. Chances are that your Chromebook's backspace key is faulty. You could try to pop the key off and make sure it's clean underneath, but otherwise, I'd take it to a repair shop.

It looked clean to me. When I tried the link to my digital keyboard, BACKSPACE worked properly, so I'm off to the GeekSquad tomorrow.
