Hi All,

My device: ATT HTC One

Do anybody know what is the difference between HTC Backup and Google Backup?

I currently use Google as the service to backup my apps and apps data. However, when I had reset my phone twice before, Google could not bring my apps and data down. It looks like it is only possible in 4.2.2 and not in 4.1.2.

Now, in my Accounts & Sync, I can see Google is configured to backup and restore. How can I change to use HTC instead of Google?

And one more - Can HTC restore HTC Apps settings (TV app, BlinkFeed, Alarms etc.,) settings too?

In settings under backup and restore you can switch to HTC backup and it should restore apps and data as well as phone settings and home screens. I have been using it while changing roms and blink feed and tv app always comes back with settings.

When I go to the "HTC Account" under "Accounts and Sync", it says "Sync is off" and I have no way to turn it on.

If I go to my Google account, I see everything including Chrome, G+ Photos backed up. I still need those to be backed up with Google.

How do I turn on HTC backup now?

Once installed, I was able to configure HTC backup.

Does it show a prompt to select what to restore? I don't like backup utilities that restore EVERYTHING without asking. I would like to select phone settings and maybe some apps, not all.

Once installed, I was able to configure HTC backup.

It's preloaded on the US unlocked and international versions as far as I know. I have yet to restore anything from the Dropbox backup but I guess it should work well.

Is it possible to have both backup the data when told too?

When I go to "Backup & Reset" I only have the option to choose either or as the primary backup account, not both. Is there anyway around that?

Also, when you constantly do backups, do they overwrite the previous backup or does it create a separate backup duplicating the data?

When I did the the HTC restore it didn't restore my home screens/app layout.
