Let's lay off on the use of troll in this thread, please. Battery life is subjective and varies from user to user. There are too many variables to determine an accurate time in which the battery should or will last. The best that can be given is an estimate which is likely to vary. For those with battery problems, or if you feel like your battery is being drained too quickly. Keep in mind signal strength, your usage history, and what you have running on your phone. If you have poor signal strength, or leave wifi running when you arent home/ attached to a network, or leave bluetooth on when you arent using it, your phone will continue to reach out for those networks and drain your battery more quickly. If your battery usage doens't line up with your usage history, use a battery monitor to see if there are any apps that are causing your phone to stay awake with screen off, or making your system haywire.

Mine must be broken.

I guess mine is too, then. ;) This is more or less what I get with my Nexus 4's.

As Jennifer said, let's all remember to relax. Battery life is based on how you as an individual use your phone. It's much more likely that there are one or two things impacting your battery life heavily than it is that there's a defect with your device or battery. That said, it does happen. If you're sure, get in touch with Google.

Like I said, I am hardly the only one complaining about it.

"OMG engadget stop trolling!" lol

You quoted an outdated article to prove your point. You realize the 4.2.2 update (released after the article was written) greatly improved battery life, right?

Sent from my pure Google Nexus 4 using Android Central Forums

So why are there still complaints about it in the forums? And not just on this site.

The battery issues I have described are real. I have no incentive to make the Nexus 4 look bad. I own one. I am not on some weird ROM either...I am on stock.

this is crazy battery time. how come your phone gives this kind of performance and mine can't handle 3 hours screen time??
(oops sorry for double posting)

I am guessing it is because he has stuff turned off or down. Besides the display I mean.

Nothing shut off, auto brightness, and none of those silly battery saving apps that use more battery than they save. I just charge my phone every night and use it every day.

that's weird isn't it?
i uses my N4 for a day too but my screen can't get up to 5 hours (or anywhere near it) and the phone can't get to 18+ hours.
and i'm using it on low brightness without using bluetooth at all, with a little wi-fi use. and the screen is set to turn off after 1 min of non use.
so why is your phones performance that much better?!

Better signal maybe? I have noticed that if I use a Verizon phone (they have horrible service here) I can only get a few hours of battery life per day. I think the signal strength has a lot to do with how long the battery will last.

So... i understand that Wifi network uses less energy than the mobile network? And if i'm not using Internet at a certain time, i must close it? I mean to turn the mobile network off.

i really don't know, i'll try to watch the signal tomorrow. but the screen is what drains most of my battery it always shows 45-50% on the battery's settings.

Anything negative must be mocked in the Nexus 4 forum. For the nexus is perfection on Earth, and anyone who does not agree is a heretic. All our self worth is tied to our phones, and any criticism of the phone is a criticism of us.

I have seen the light.

Nope not anything. Just the ones who expend a herculean effort of obsessive proportions in doing so.
