Bad Radio Reception

Compared to my wife's S3, my S4 seems to have worse radio reception. My phone always gets one less bar than the S3 when they are in 4G mode. When we go to places, the S3 will still be in 4G and my S4 goes down to 3G or 1X.

Anyone has a suggestion? Thanks.

Have you spoken to Verizon? I assume your wife is also on Verizon. Show them the comparison--maybe they'll try giving you a replacement SIM.

Yes, my wife's S3 is on Verizon as well. But why would a new SIM solve the reception problem?

From what I've read, it's true a bad SIM won't affect the signal strength per se--but it might cause problems actually connecting with the network. So if your LTE is dropping out, that might be due to a bad SIM.
