BAMF 2.1remix vs. Sense 3.0

I guess the last thing I would ask is what Radio everyone is running with Remix2.1? The 2.0 or the 2.5? Not sure (mixed responses on forums) of which one to flash. And regardless of which one, next question is should I flash the new radio first then the ROM?

2.5 for me, better 4G Signal, and locks onto GPS almost instantly.

Thanks, do I need to be concerned when restoring all my app+app data to the new 2.1 ROM or can I just do that as one normally would?

do you back up docs with google?
bc if you do, after you go thru setup wizard and put your google acct in, if you go to the market and select My Apps it will show you that they're all about to be downloaded again onto the new rom.

As far as data goes, you can use titanium backup to save all your User App data (don't restore System Data), and then either restore them one by one or setup a batch restore for your user apps.

I usually find that i dont need most of my data, just a game or two and my alarm clock (alarm droid), so i dont even backup all my apps+data any more, i just use google and backup the few apps i need to with TB.

i guess im the only one that doesnt like the launcher for remix i like the customization just not the look( to me it looks like launcherpro sorda just not as good) but i do like the theme part with market ect. now if they can make the customization with stock sense launcher ill be happy, because if i wanted remix launcher i would just use another home launcher all together.

Everything is cool with 2.1 however how do you change the icons/shortcuts on the lock screen? For example I use Go SMS for my txt messaging, the lock screen displays the standard text app, I want to change that.

I gave RC2 a try and while I loved the coolness of Sense 3.0, I went back to Banf 1.8 as I'm happy with it and it's never given me any problems. I would be willing to move on when the devs evetually get a remix ver. of it out and all the little things that don't work are eventually ironed out.
With that said, it there anyone here that knows of an app that gives the same functionality of the Launcher Pro scrolling icons at the bottom of the home screens? I want to have that but not lose Sense all together. Is that even possible?

I'm updating my 2.1 now. Want to get rid of the green lockscreen ring and go back to silver. I downloaded the revert.zip file and it says to "flash in recovery." Can someone explain that? When I hear that I'm thinking I can go into ROM Manager, boot into recovery flash from SDcard?

You got it; that's ClockworkMod Recovery. From ROM Mgr, boot into Recovery, Install from zip file, select file, install. Reboot.

If the phone is already off, another way of accessing CWM Recovery is to hold the VOL Down button while pressing the PWR button for about 5 sec., then release the PWR button while still pressing VOL Down. This will bring you into HBOOT, from where you can select and boot into CWM Recover.

I didn't flash the 3.0 based on everyone's feedback here. Instead went from 1.7 to 2.1 remix with the MR2 radio. I'm getting ridiculous battery usage (down to 38% before noon) and slow charge. Am I missing a kernal or setting that you guys have?

I think you can longpress the home screen and select Personalize>Lockscreen

I was having the same problem. Battery drain like crazy and the phone was taking like 9 hours to charge. I flashed the new lean kernel and everything seems to be okay again. I was still getting slightly better battery life with 1.7 though... but I'm loving GB and the new sense lock to go back.
Try out the new kernel.

Ok, as much as I like the look of Remix 2.1 it's just not ready for primetime. I'm having a ton of issues, reflashing and the such didn't resolve any so they're clearly bugs.

1. Bluetooth pairing in my car suddenly stops or won't work at all.
2. Signal will turn on/off during a call and I'll get disconnected.
3. Turning on/off internet connection mode to simply mount the phone is getting old.
4. some apps I normally use don't work at all.
5. Phone drains battery rather quickly. Much faster than it did with previous BAMF remixes.

I guess it was fun while it lasted (48hrs) ha. Question though, I have a nandroid backup from when the phone was stock rooted. Can I restore that backup and it will restore the original radio .zip as well? I'm running radio mr2 right now and the next ROM I flash will be a Froyo based one.

Only thing I'm a little concerned about it that amount of bars of 3g/4g I'm getting. I've noticed I am only getting 2 or 3 bars of 4g, and sometimes I'm only put on 3g. Before I flashed I would be getting full bars. Is this a problem with my radio? Should I try flashing the MR2.5 radio? What radio would I flash if I wanted to go back to froyo? Thanks!!!

I just flashed it, wiped the battery stats, and then plugged it in to get a full charge. Hope that works. I need to learn how to overclock, then I think I will be golden.

I'm not 4g where I live just yet, but a couple people have told me I may like the MR2.5 better. I am supposed to be in New Orleans next week, which is 4g and will check the differences then.

No you'll have to flash a froyo radio if you restore a froyo rom. check out the obligatory radio thread for those.

i think the bars are strictly for voice connection and have nothing to do with data connection. pls correct me if that's wrong.

you can set your processor speed in the das bamf toolkit - cpu settings.

The issue is that Launcher Pro will not let you go to "personalize", but you probably figured that out already. Here's how to change it...

If you don't have a default the hit home and choose the Sense home then go to personalize etc.., but I'm assuming you do, so go menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all>launcher pro>clear defaults

If it cleared then hit home button and you should have a choice between launcher pro and sense (if you don't go clear it again, happens sometimes), choose sense and got so personalize>lock screen settings and set it up how you like.

When your done just hit home again and check the default and hit lp and you will be back with your new lock screen.

After rooting to 2.1remix, the default music player doesn't have the "playlist" icon on the bottom anymore. Anybody know a fix for this? It's driving me mad because all other music players do not show up on the lockscreen! Much appreciated.
