I ran CM7 on my OG Droid and really liked it, but I love sense, so I am going to try BAMF out and see how it goes.

Thanks for the links guys. I was on XDA and was confused by the hundreds of pages filled wit links.....bit overwhelming!

Ive used both.

I liked BAMF Sense 3.0 but it lagged, The Sense 3.0 lock screen lagged, the app drawer lagged, and the extra transitions lagged. It wasn't horrible but just enough to annoy me. I want my phone to operate as smoothly as possible. It also had random app force closes from time to time, and the occasional reboot. The phone app also had a tendency to crash. I don't use the phone's calling feature much but when I do its important so I need it that to work 100%,

So I switched to CM7. Lean and fast...I thought I found the ROM for me. Unfortunately it's Bluetooth functionality was messed up. I couldn't get it to pair with my car and thats major for me. I have a one hour commute and I rely on that BT connection for Pandora and podcasts. Also with the latest radio it's 4G connection was intermittent. It would hop from 4G to 3G; then sometimes to no data at all. Also the wifi had "hand off" problems as well.

I understand CM7 isn't finalized so I'm not mad, or disappointed. I expected some issues, so I had some and decided it wasn't for me.

I'm back to Froyo BAMF 1.8. Nice and stable, everything works. Battery isn't as great on the new radio but its good enough for me.

Did you overclock? That took care of the lag for me.

Force closes and reboots have typically been a result of restoring system data using TiBu...

The BAMF guys left XDA due to a disagreement with XDA's TOS regarding signatures... the details are here----->Uncut Android-[Update] – XDA, Freedom of Speech & htcclay ? Uncut Android

They have their own forum now, as a previous poster mentioned. Team BAMF Forums - Home

Interesting read... I did not read the entire thread, but I definitely did read enough to understand. In one person's opinion: That is overboard. It's one person's signature. I would not have a problem with someone having that on their signature. It's their right to say that. I served in the Military for 20 years for their right to say just that.

I think your right about Titanium being the root of some of my errors. As I have modified how I use Ti and things have gotten better overall when switching ROMs. However I don't know that, that would explain the malfunctioning dialer/calling app. Perhaps they are connected and I should try it again without using TiBu.

About overclocking. I overclocked to 1.4ghz and that did help however I still lagged just a bit. Again Ill say it wasn't what I would call severe lag or even bad lag, but I could still see it. Im picky lol.

Anyway, still loving me some BAMF. Ill be checking them out on their new site.

Thanks for your service!!

Finally got the Bamf running (only to see RC4.9 is now released) But WOW is all I can say. Fast, snappy, and so far so good. If this keeps up I dont see any reason to even try CM7 with or without sense.

Used CM7 on my original Droid and loved it to pieces.

Upgraded to the TB, quickly rooted, and loaded Bamf (now 3.0 RC4). Did a clear/wipe every time I installed versions of Bamf, and have had ZERO problems.

I like the eye candy of Bamf, with it's Sense, so will probably stick with it even after CM7 comes out officially for the TB
