Bands?

Lol....ok I'm like my 14 days is up Wed if this is a yr old I'm taking it back and waiting for the next one...

Haha no this is Samsung's latest and greatest little wearable my bad lol. To be honest it looks great as it is, but I would love some more band options...guess we'll just keep waiting lol. I think they'll be sticking with this particular model for at least a year (bold prediction) based on the fact that they have all the major carriers on board with it. They just need to get more awareness out there...and more accessories

I wish it was regular type bands like the Gear 2. But I guess the Gear Fit was a hit so they decided to stick with this type. They have a lot of bands out for Gear fit so maybe Gear S will too down the line. I am waiting to see if the price drops on the ones we see thus far.

I went on ahead and jumped in when I did because the other listing was up to $97 so by comparison the $56 listing and free shipping was good. I can imagine the bands selling for half that here but I wouldn't anticipate them coming out before the new year.

How can it be that difficult to have accessories ready at launch since prior versions of the item had the same type accessories. It's not like Samsung didn't know people were going to want different type bands.

Looks like they've gone up to $55.99. I went on ahead and grabbed a white strap anyhow since I wanted the white watch but there wasn't one in my area.

Wowzers that is CRAZY so 24 hours later the price changed again. When I was going to post it the price jumped from $47 to $49 and now $56 they are following the other seller I am sure.

For what it's worth guys I just sent Samsung an email. I asked them if they could do anything in the way of more official accessory support for the Gear S, or if they could work with some of their partners to try and get more interest in making bands/accessories for the watch. I'll let you all know if I hear back from them, it's definitely a long-shot but if they know that people are interested in there being more bands perhaps they will push a little harder to get some options out there/encourage third parties to make some.

So that's about what I expected. Anyone try calling that Accessory support line before? Might be worth a shot, even if it's just to get on the call log that you are interested in more Gear S bands.

I agree, I'd like some nice bands. But honestly at this point, I'll take any bands I can get I'd love maybe a silver metal watch band like you'd see on the pebble steel perhaps

Yeah...I'm a little confused on that as well. You would think that everything in Best Buy would be on their website, so it seems unlikely that there are a bunch of bands at the Samsung stores in Best Buy. Still though, I suppose it's worth checking a few out. I hope they got wise to what I was actually asking in my email, which was make some more bands!

Wouldn't metal, et. be hard with the way the band attaches. It seems like at least around the watch it would need to be rubber so it could be stretched around the frame.

I imagine it would work something like the Otterbox. A soft, rubberized housing goes around the edges of the watch face and that piece then slides inside a metal band. It would probably be at least two pieces.

That's a good find. Saw this one when I was looking for my white band. I wish a white one would have been listed for that price at the time I was about to order. I have a black band that I managed to scratch the clasp of on day one. All I did was sit down at my computer and I typed for maybe 5 minutes and then thought about that huge metal clasp sticking out but it was too late. NOT a very good design. The clasp should have just been a regular one so it wouldn't stick out so much.

They have protectors for the bands but I think I will swap mine so much it won't matter... I did have a protector on my gear 1 band because I couldn't swap it.

After I looked further u can replace the black band for $11 to $12 on eBay by doing a search for dummy gear s watches. Shipping included so if bothers u grab one

Dang just the other day the Gray one was $39 now it's $59. This is a shame Samsung.....
