Based on the reputable reviews I'm not optimistic.

I take 3 pictures a month, use no AOD or security, detest Bixby, and don't play games. I use the Note line for the stylus. So cameras aren't personally a factor. Am already paying a premium for the Note 8 as my needs are simple.

Not tempted by the S9 as already made mistake of buying the S8+ because of the delay caused by the Note 7 fiasco.

Wish they hadn't screwed up the SPen software.

I'm so tempted to get one this week, but it is almost completely an impulse buy. I've only had my G6 for six months and its working fine. However I would like the octa-core processor, increased ram and connectivity of the SD 845, on T-Mobile I get band 66 and 71 with the S9+ which could help my connectivity. Maybe that's enough? I still own the disabler app. The telephoto lens would be nice for kids' events to.

You don't consider having a yearly upgrade plan with little to no financial impact (I'm only going to end up paying slightly more than half of the retail price overall) is not a justifiable reason to upgrade?

It was for me. Otherwise, I would have skipped this phone cause my S8+ was so good. But I'm paying only 4 bucks more per month to upgrade so I really don't have a reason not to.

I loved the feel of the note 4. That's my favorite designed phone to date. The flat aluminum sides and soft touch back plate felt awesome. I still see people using them and they hold up surprisingly well.

Me too. One of the managers at my job still uses a Note 4 in a Defender case.

I get the premium feel of glass but if you have a case on it there really is no difference if you have a Defender on it. You're feeling the thick case, not the phone.
