Hey everyone. I currently own an iPhone 5, but I am getting very sick of it. It constantly does little things to annoy me. For example, I'll get a text from a friend, and I'll tap on the notification to go to it, but the text will not show up and I'll have to reboot my phone. It's little things like that that annoy me. Plus, I've never had a phone other than an iPhone, so I would like to try either the Nexus 4, Galaxy S4, or HTC One, and I had a few questions/concerns.

1. My friends all have iPhones and they group message a lot. If I were to get one of the above phones, would group messaging still work the way it does on iOS (one thread for everyone), or would it work like it does on other phones (each person that responds is a separate thread)?

2. One thing that I like about the iPhone is the new notification system that was introduced in iOS 5. I know Android has a similar notification system while the phone is unlocked, but I have not seen any Android phones with lock screen notifications. Is there something you can install from the Google Play Store that would enable this feature? I like to be able to look at my phone and see what's new.

3. Do Android phones vibrate when receiving notifications, and can you customize the vibrations? On my iPhone, it will vibrate very distinctly for notifications, and I have it set to vibrate twice if the notification is a text message.

Those things are all that is holding me back from getting one of the phones above. Thanks in advance :)

1. It should work without a problem however i just read a thread in the Galaxy s4 forums with someone haveing a problem getting these messages. I think the issue was a setting in imessage. Im sure someone one else could chime in and given more info.

2. I think this depends on the version of android / manfacture launcher. If you do not secure your phone you should be able to access the drop-down notification bar and access your notifications. The other option is an app - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...com.samr.notificationWallpaper&token=Z3x9E3d-

3. I know you can set up the phone to vibrate for the application of your choice (ie. text messages but not e-mail). I am not aware of a setting to change the type vibration but it looks like there is an app that will do this. - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...om.itchyfingerzfree.vybe&hl=en&token=u8Z_vXdZ.

1. Tricky. Imessage is a closed environment, so group messages don't quite work perfectly with outside messaging apps.

2. The Dashclock app does that, and so much more. It'd way more functional than the iOS notifications.

3. 100% customizable by the user.
