Battery after GB Update

My battery life has definitey decreased since Froyo. I've been running GB since the very first leak in March or so. Thinking it was my battery starting to wear down, I bought another BH6X battery and after a few charge/discharge cycles, I am still noticing worse battery life in GB than in Froyo.

I keep BT & wi-fi off most of time, screen is usually set to auto-brightness. I disabled all widgets and/or background updates and my battery is still dead after an average workday (~10 hours off the charger), with days of heavier use finding the battery icon within the yellow in 4-5 hours.

No problems trickle charging it via USB on a variety of machines, however.

I normally leave mine plugged in ALL DAY!!

Noticing big time drop in battery, too, and not using any more than before. I have a spare battery, but wished there was an alternate way to charge it rather than putting it into phone. Would be nice to charge phone/battery & extra all at the same time.

Finally got a full charge and the level has dropped 7% in the 20 minutes since I unplugged from the wall. o.O

Mine seems fine. One thing I did notice is I get the following message when its charged @ 100%

"Fully charged. Unplug your charger from the outlet to conserve energy"

My Droid X's battery has always been pretty solid and I haven't noticed any major changes since the update. I've been unplugged for 3 hours with 80% life and that is with about 40 minutes of listening to music (not streaming however) and about 15 minutes of browsing and email.

Does this maybe have anything to do with the sync icon being on constantly in the status bar? Someone mentioned doing a factory reset to get rid of the icon, but I want to avoid that. I wonder if it's really syncing constantly or if the icon is just there without doing anything but intermittent syncing...

I've seen the sync icon a few times but never constantly thank goodness.

My sync icon is not on all the time but the activity animation on 3g is constantly on. Not just flashes but always on both arrows. If I kill all tasks using advanced task manager it stops for a few mind but returns quickly. This is killing my battery very very quickly and I can't figure out what it is...

I just did a restart and my sync icon is back again and stays on constantly. This wasn't the case when I had Froyo. I don't have any apps set to auto-update and I don't have push activated for Gmail either (it's on a 15-minute fetch schedule). I'm thinking maybe it's still syncing my apps after the update but they all appear to be in the app drawer so that can't be it either. I'm perplexed...

Thought the same - killed all my GApps, still happening

only way to get it to STOP is to set my battery saver to night and turn the screen off

Set standard, with no power plugged in, the phone itself gets warm on the base and back... it's working over time... doing something

Just can't flippin figure out what.

I even added the stock power control widget to my homescreen, unselected the auto-sync, and the icon is still in my status bar. If my battery life is unaffected tomorrow after I start on a fresh charge for the first time with Gingerbread, I won't be bothered by it. It just irks me that it's there and will always make me wonder what's going on in the background LOL.

I only see the sync icon when my phone is syncing since the update. The leak may have had a bug related to the sticky sync icon.

My battery life has gone WAY down-hill. Sucks! I hate having a gadget that I love to use but am always apprehensive because I still need it for business and have to worry about drain.

My battery life seemed to get better. Installed the 2 part method froyo to gb. I removed lp to play with blur. Try not running an extra launcher for awhile, maybe that will help, maybe you'll like the new blur
