I did the new update today and ever since my battery life has stunk big time. I never really had battery issues before. Now I am seeing like a full percentage loss every 2 minutes or so. Anyone else?

Mine sucks. I didn't use my phone all day. It sat on my desk at work and I lost 90% battery in 5 hours. Horrible.

question is what is using your battery? settings > about phone > battery use.

Guys I really dont think the update has much to do with it otherwise everyone would be complaining. Something must've happened either during the update or when you restored your files. Try a hard reset and dont install anything and see if your battery still drops dramatically after a few minutes. I did the update last night and did not see any significant drop.

mine has been up for 15 hours 49 mins since update with

27% cell standby
27% wifi 15h 11 m
23% phone idle 12h 45 m
10% android 20 m cpu
9% display 3h 4m
2% media server 31 min cpu
2% voice calls lol 6 mins

lol. i guess we forget these devices are phones

Mine was pretty bad as well. Dead after 9 hours and 41 minutes, 46% Cell Standby.

just a reminder--
the update RESETS all 'sync' preferences that you set before the update
(ie STOCKS/NEWS,etc)

change it back to your preferential update pattern.

mine has been---normal. i believe.

but, since the fps did double, it will take more of a strain the battery life.

I had a similar problem until I rebooted. I noticed that something called "Rosie's utility" was constantly in my running apps list. Seems OK after that.

Mine is also worse after the update. I've lost a couple hours from what I normally get.

My battery is also worse after the media hub update its dying faster than before. Also why in the world does it take so long for the phone to charge fully. The evo charged so much quicker... im hoping this froyo update comes soon and fixes the issue.

I think you posted this in the wrong forum/thread. This thread is concerning the Evo (which already has Froyo) and the update Sprint just released. You should visit the Epic forum which has a thread dedicated to the issue you described.

Go under settings ,syncs, take make sure u uncheck things u dont want synced up..after up date things i had off were turned back on!

What they should have done is make the battery as wide as the phone. Have it stop just under the camera to the bottom of the device. From one side to the other. That would give use alot of battery without making the phone bigger. Instead of the style of the back of the Evo, they should have left room for a bigger battery. Sad part is it would take a really long time to charge, but the end resaults would be alot battery life. They need to stop using these tiny batteries and just make room for bigger ones. Phones are only going to get faster and faster and have a huge impact on battery life and these PSP like batteries wont hold.
