One thing i noticed immediately after picking up the TB is that the auto dim feature on my phone does not work. Whether i was at the office during the day, or in my car at night, the display would relatively bright, i would guess at least 50% brightness. It wouldn't move at all, so i have had it manually set to around 20% brightness for the past couple days. I really wish this would work. I do have the power control widget on, I dont know if that would impact the screen functionality.

When I first got my phone, battery life was much worse than my droid, but manageable. the past 24 hours have been a nightmare. I went out with some friends last night, had good 4G signal, wasn't roaming, just on standby my phone went from 74% to 18% in a little over 3 hours. Barely used it at all, just sat in my pocket.

So i get home last night, pop it on the charger, wake up this morning, take it off, it's at 100% naturally. Sitting in standby on my desk, not touching it at all, my batter is down to 74% in under 90 minutes. HOLY HELL! This is terrible. At this rate, i would need to charge my phone every 3-5 hours. I just dont see what could possibly be causing this. sitting on standby for an hour and a half on a full charge should not use 25% of the battery.

Are there any apps or settings people have attributed to this issue? I mean at this point, i'm not even sure if it's a bug, or if my phone is actually sucking juice this quickly.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This is a known issue and there are many threads on this already. There is a sticky thread up on top. Hope that helps.

Juice Defender and Blockbuster Help
Bump charging is alive and well.
I woke up and omg!

Give it about a week, your battery will get better. Also, it's important to run the battery from full to almost completely dead for the OS to read the battery % right.

Thanks. Took a look at those links, and I've read the sticky, but neither seemed to really apply to any of the apps I use or have on my phone. Maybe i'll try to figure out how to root this thing and see if it works better without all the bloatware. Having 26% of the battery used in a little over an hour when it's not even being used is extremely unacceptable.

True, but i plugged it in last night at 14%. It charged all night from 14% to full...I unplug it, let it sit for 90 minutes, and now i'm rocking 74% It's insanity. I did reboot the phone to see if it killed some process that may have been running in the background, and the battery drain seemed to slow back to normal.

I know Im also getting the extended battery that Verizon is selling it's 2750 mah and I hear its really good cost is 50 bucks. Bulky but does the job.

I would totally spring for that extended battery, but I JUST ordered the Seidio innocase II w/ belt clip. I wont be able to use it with the monster battery. I have the seidio super extended batt for my OG Droid, so i'm used to the size.

I was asking around to see if a case for the extended battery that Verizon has existed.

I figured what i may do to keep size down, is get the 1600mah extended battery as my primary, and keep the stocker charged so i can swap batts if i can't recharge. I just wish they had a wall charger for the battery. oh well.

New to the extended batteries, there is no wall charger that comes with it? if not what do we charge it with?

well you would charge it in the phone. If we get the 2750mah battery, you wouldn't need to charge it during the day, just when you go to bed. but if we're only gettin 6-8 hours from the standard battery, i would like a wall charger for the battery by itself, that way i can charge a battery overnight in my phone, and still have a fully charged extra battery handy. it's just a pain using the phone to keep 2 batteries charged.

the seidio 2700+mah battery in my OG droid would only drain down to about 70% ALL DAY, so i had no use for an extra battery. however, if i wanted to not make the phone thicker, and got an extra oem sized battery, then i would have 2 batteries that i could only charge while it was IN the phone. it's not impossible, just a hassle.

so basically, if i end up with a 2 battery setup, i'll wait until there is a wall charge available for the oem sized battery before i pull the trigger, just so i can keep both charged.
