battery compatability

Planning on making the switch from my iPhone 4 to the galaxy sII this weekend. I'd like to have a backup battery just in case. My question is, will batteries for the i9100 be compatable with the ATT version?

According to Amazon they will not work. One thing is that the battery compartment on the AT&T phone is thicker due to the NFC built into the battery.
