I got a galaxy tab pro 8.4 for Christmas. The battery was great for the first week and a half to 2 weeks. Now if I have 100% battery less than an hour later it will be at 5%. Does anybody else have this problem? Or can anybody help me?

Yep. Have had both the "rapidly depleting 100% charge" and "stalling during charging" issues for months, as many other owners have had.

However! Recently switched from using the bundled Samsung charger to a third party brand and now the battery is consistently charging right to 100% and depleting at a normal pace.

So it seems there could be a bad batch of Samsung chargers out there shipping with the tabpro leading to battery charging, depleting and level reporting issues. (ie. reporting 100% when it wasn't).

After months of just putting up with it, my random battery problems (which started a month or so after getting the tabpro) immediately went away and stayed away after switching chargers. So, in my case at least, the tablet and battery are fine.

By the way, my new charger is a "Digipower" branded one.

Why do you think changing a different charger would improve the battery life and get 6 hours of sceen time again on my Tab Pro 8.4

Should i get one?

Sansung should not ship with bad charging cables

Bad charging cables are a very common problem. Yes they shouldn't ship bad ones but it does happen. I'd start with just a new cable. See if that helps.

Im glad im not the only one experiencing this issue. Except ive had mine ever since it came out but lately (past month) I cant even get a full days charge. About 2 months ago whenever i charge it, it always stays at 78% and the only way for me to get it to show 100% is to turn it off and plug it in and watch the battery meter then i can turn it back on. I have been using the same charger although i had also been using my note 4 charger cause it has a higher wattage. Could it be that my battery is getting old? Can i call samsung support and get something taken care of?

Will try that Wakelock detector and see if it helps.

Thanks

Is it not working properly or something I get this message. "Access Permission was changed in KitKat, Now Advances statitistics need ROOT access :("

That is telling you that an app needs root access to function. Maybe "Advanced Statistics"? If you aren't using that app just uninstall it.

Its not showing anything because it isnt working. It is telling you it requires root access to function. Just uninstall the app.

If you're within the first year you can definitely give Samsung a call. Depending on your issues they will fix it or replace battery, if need be.
