Hello,
Im new to Android(came from iphone5). I love the N3 but my battery really sucks. I have read some of the other posts and have tried various suggestions. But nothing seems to work.
Today my battery dropped from 93% to 76% in 2 hours with normal email use.
Then it dropped from 76% to 62 % in 50 min. Again just normal email and 2 battery app downloads.
I then put the N3 in airplane mode and it dropped 3% in 1 hour. I think the issue may be the lousy ATT signal at work. Only about 1-2 bars.

I have attached some screen shots and would like to get some advice from the Group.

Do you have a lot of honescreens and or widgets running?

Palm Treo line > Blackberry line > Samsung Galaxy S line > NOW - the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 😊

Have you tried turning off sync? If not, try that and see what your battery life is like then. If it improves then you know there's some app that is syncing in the background and causing abnormal battery usage.

I turned off my SYNC options as well to help put. Turned off location settings and turned down screen brightness. I stopped a lot of apps and then went into task manager to see what else was running and shut those off as well.

Facebook was killing my battery, I'm hardly on there but it kept popping up notifications. I went and turned off notifications as well and that saved a lot of juice as well and turned sync off on that

I have 3 screens on my phone(see attached pics)
I do not have facebook app or running through a website.
Screen brightness is at 3/4
I will try to turn off sync. Is that done through the swipedown at the top of the screen menu? Where airplane mode, wifi, and other settings are at? Will turning off that sync setting stop my emails from being pushed via exchange and gmail?

Is your phone rooted? I've noticed a lot of people that complain about a phone's battery performance for the N3 have already rooted and customized their device. I would probably take the same approach with this phone that I would with a car that I'm looking to modify. First drive the car around stock for a few months to get an idea of what the car drives like, then when you go to customize it, you'll get a better idea if your modification is an improvement or is hindering performance.

The most obvious battery drainer is, of course apps that have notifications sent to your device, I personally don't need to be that connected to Facebook, Twitter, etc. Those are things I do on my downtime, so I don't mind checking them when I have free time. I don't need a notification that so and so is eating at her favorite restaurant during my meetings at work.

Oh and try auto-brightness, 3/4ths isn't needed for most conditions IMO.

Not Rooted just downloaded a few apps. Not using Facebook. I am using floating notification app, but I only get calendar appts sent through that app.
I tried auto brightness but it is often too dark for me.

Check your Google Now settings. They constantly check things in the background if not configured otherwise. Also feel free to delete Lookout unless you use it for something other than antivirus.

That's better battery then an iPhone. I have the iPhone 1-5 and the HTC one. Now the note 3 not one of those phones compared. And the fact that you're averaging 10% an hour with use is good. Btw if the background you're using is 3D and moves your using the processor and gpu that right there is a battery killer. Also look out uses battery.

I came over from iPhone 5. This battery lasts about double what what my 5 did. I always had to charge and watch my iPhone at least once during the day and monitor it carefully for battery drain. I have been running my note 3 morning to night with live wallpaper and all notifications running and I still have juice. This thing has an amazing battery!

Thanks for all the advice.
Since I have turned of syncing my battery is barley draining!
I want my work email synced and pushed to me so I will play with the settings.
Are the sync settings only for email accounts?

Also I tried the brightness at 40% but it is just too dark for me. Also the display is so awesome I want it very bright. So I will just have to deal with that drain.

It's your signal. From the screenshots you provided, your signal is very low in nearly each of them. Poor cell signal is a huge battery drain, because your phone is constantly searching for a signal. At a previous job I worked at it, I got really poor cell reception and my battery would drain like crazy, I would just put it on airplane mode while I'm at work.

I was going to post that also. Looks like your phone is looking for signal and switched between hspa and LTE, which drains battery just like having WiFi on and it keeps searching for wifi

Check your latest apps you downloaded to see if that is causing your. problem. The most I went after on charge is 2 days with use checking emails and forums. I have all my syncs on. I have on Power saving mode and have screen brightness on auto. I had for the first time a fast battery drain last week. I found out that a game was running in the background. Sometimes I just reboot my phone after playing games to make sure that there is no games I just completed still running. I still get a full day to a day and a half off one full charge. This phone is a champ!!!
