I think the drain comes from the wi-fi usage and facebook constantly running on the backgound. Try reducing your screen brightness and turning off internet connections when not in use.

So keep wifi always on during the day can cause this massive drain? There's also a solution to disable facebook on the background?

Did you ever find a solution? I am suffering with the exact same problems. It's definitely not WiFi causing the problem, Android system and Android OS should not be that high. I had a note 3 for a while earlier in the year and the battery life was excellent. I bought this one a few weeks ago and it's been like this since I bought it. It's kind of nice to know I'm not the only one having these problems as I thought it might just be this phone. Chances are the problem was caused by samsung not fixing bugs in their last update. My wife just upgraded to the z3 but the galaxy s3 she had before that was plagued with WiFi and battery issues caused by the last update samsung ever pushed to the phone. Other than that I'm completely out of ideas :(

Andrea's screenshots show over 24hrs on battery, so not clear what the problem specifically is. 24hrs without a charge is good.

Hello. I was in a similar position with my note 3. After reading serious threads I tried a couple of things and now I'm getting better battery than ever. For example yesterday I took the phone off charge at 6 in the morning, when I put it on charge last night at midnight I still had 40% charge. I class myself as a moderate to heavy user and I had a Samsung gear connected all day. Here is how I managed it.

Firstly I forced stopped the google play services app. ( once I'd done this the launcher had stopped and I had no icons only the background on the home screen)
So then I turned the phone off.
Left it for 30 seconds and turned it back on. The device then booted up in downloaded mode so once again I turned it off and back on.
Once the phone came back on I monitored it for a few days. The battery was better but not great.
I then found an option in the developer menu that shows the “ process stats“. This showed me apps that where running in the background. The top few apps where ones that either I hardy use, didn't use at all or ones that only needed to be refreshed once opened.
I proceeded to either uninstall, or adjust the app settings so they weren't refreshing in the background.
This will probably work for other phones too.
I'm not saying its a permanent fix but if I need to do this once every few weeks its worth it for the results Im getting.

I hope this helps you too.

I tried everything I could think of (even purchased a new battery from samsung) and nothing helped but then I flashed a custom kernel (still using stock touchwiz) and its made my battery last at least 40-50% longer
