Hey guys

OK so I got my note 4 yesterday and I charged it to 100 percent and used it a bit not much and I went to sleep. I checked it in the middle of the night and the battery was draining and Cell Standby and phone idle were the main culprits

When I wokeup in the morning the battery was at 33% (so i had a 63
% drain). While the Cell standby took 27% of the drain and idle and android OS took 16 %.

Can u please tell me what might be causing the problem? And how can I tackle the cell standby problem.

I live in Stockholm, Sweden and I'm using tele2 carrier sim and my phone has 4 network options

1) LTE/CDMA/GSM (Auto connect)
2) CDMA/GSM (Auto connect)
3) CDMA only
4) GSM only

Other information:
My network is set on the first option (LTE/CDMA/GSM) and right now I have not used the phone outside my home so currently on the first network option I'm getting 3 bars of the network out of 4.

If I click on any of the other 3 network options (CDMA/GSM, CDMA only, GSM only) the network bar becomes full 4 out of 4 but then when I click on the first option (LTE/CDMA/GSM) the network bars becomes 3.

The network was set to first option throughout the night and the call standby shows 0% time without the signal.

Please tell me what should I do. I have tried to provide all the information, I knew. If u need any other information plz let me know. The battery is now at 21% with 19 hrs on battery. I have hardly use the mobile fr half n hour n fr the rest of the time the mobile was just idle n screen was off with no background apps running and only WiFi on.

Should I choose any other network option rather then the first one? I use 4G when I'm outside home because I use Internet a lot. So plz help me

Thanks

It could be a weak cell signal. Post a screen shot of the battery stats

The screen shot was taken a bit later that's why the cell standby shows 24 instead of 27. Also it shows screen.

only thing that should be using battery over 20% is

screen around 20%
android system 20-22%

My Andoid OS uses on average about 12-13%

with cell standby about 8%

anymore than that and there is something eating your battery. do you have sync on? switch that off.

My battery life sucks. I was getting 5 hours on my S4 and now it's the same on my N4. What's the deal?View attachment 146779

Only 5 Hours? WOW, and they said the Note 4 was going to be the best phone. Can't even last a whole day. This is not just your model. A few friends of mine actually spent the high dollar for there note 4 and returned it within a week when the Note 4 couldn't last at least 12 hours, lag issues (Verizon). They are sticking with there HTC M8.
