I had a major battery drain so I followed the advice given on another thread and did a factory reset as they said the OTA update may have been the issue. Now my battery drain is fixed but am I now stuck with having android 4.1.1 or can I try updating it again to 4.1.2. A lot of features I liked are no longer available in this version. Are my choices battery drain during sleep mode with power save on and data and wifi off or having the factory android version. Hope someone can help as this is very frustrating. Also read in another thread that 4.1.2 was supposed to be better on battery life. So condfused.

The experience seems to be different for different users. Most of the excessive battery drain I've experienced is caused by poor signal or a rogue app of some sort. It's not a bad practice to reboot the device once a week or so. I haave disable LTE on my device since my home is in a non LTE area and my work is on the edge of an LTE area and it seemed to be sucking my battery dry because it was always trying to get the LTE connection. Unfortunately there is no easy fix all solution and these devices are tough on the battery with the larger screens. Until someone designs a better battery or the manufacturers use better batteries I think we're stuck needing to plug-in once day, sometimes more.

A factory reset would not cause you to loose any features unless they were Apps that you had downloaded which you can get back. What features did you loose?

I was wrong lol. .. but the reset fixed my battery drain over night when on standby so that is greatly appreciated
