Battery drain

You aren't using the Home button to leave your apps when you're finished with them, are you? (That keeps them running in the background, only the Back button closes them.)

Never really think about overnight draining until I see posts like this so checking to see how mine fairs...

Last night went to sleep at 11pm and phone at 38%. Woke up at 6am and battery was at 34% to 33% when I checked a moment later. So I'm looking at a 4-5% drop in 7 hours which has been pretty much the norm for me and feel it's pretty good for Android.

You getting that drain when you change power mode is pretty harsh imo... but you haven't mentioned when checking usage what your top services/apps are. Has to be something running in background.

I don't bother with stuff like changing power saving mode when sleeping or other Samsung tricks like running Device Maintenance cleaning or weekly auto reboots to keep their phones stable.

I do a few things though to try to minimize background usage and overnight drain... I go through the list of all apps for notification on AOD screen and turn off notification for apps I don't need showing on AOD and running in background.

Another thing I do is schedule AOD to turn off between midnight and 6am. Even though it's lower power, it helps. Why have AOD floating on your screen while your sleeping?

Disagree with other comment about battery sucking... been very happy with battery life and finally (or at least for now) earlier issues I had seem to be sorted out.
Usually at night, I'll put on the medium battery savery and not usually have an issue. I have the Night Clock app on so I see the big clock and have my alarms set.

Went to bed with the phone at about 22 % - woke up and it was completely dead. Thankfully I didn't wake up late. It's charging up fine now, but 20% over night is concerning to me. I'll put it into the battery medium mode again I suppose for overnight, perhaps will do the battery check as well and clear any background stuff before heading to bed.

It's fast charging just fine now - and already at 33 %. I plugged the "dead" phone in about 20 minutes ago.

I have zero complaints about battery life, AOD overnight 7/8 hours will drain 3-5% if I forget to plug in when going to bed.
daily use I easily get 8+ hours of SoT with still 25% left if I don't top up during the day.
I really do wonder if the exynos model manages battery life better.
I don't have the screen very bright though as it is not needed here

I keep my display at 50% myself and not really to save battery and no strain on eye... I find it plenty bright when I'm inside and outside even in the Florida sun.

I'm going to put the AOD on tonight and see the difference. I'm not worried about it.
