Battery drains in 4.1.2

I recently upgraded my S2 to Jelly Bean and now battery drains so fast..that it wont even lasts for half day properly. It frequently shuts down or hangs while browsing. Is there any way to revert it to ICS. Please do provide me some help.

After loading the JB I did factory reset hoping it will solve but the issue persists.

I have serious doubt if samsung does perform some tests before releasing the new OS.How to make samsung aware of the problems that its customers are having issues with JB so that they give out patch.

Having the same problems with battery and phone hangs up while talking. Battery only lasts half a day. Have done reset also and didn't fix problem. Started after 4.1.2 release.
Somebody please get this fixed.... Samsung.

I purchased mobile in India and relocated to Singapore.
I raised support ticket and demanded that I need an escalation for my issue as the support told me that the mobile was purchased in another country and OS upgrade was done in Singapore. Should I keep country specific mobile? How come the OS was pushed to my mobile. THey claim that Singapore hasnt got the JB. I am waiting for their reply.. Does any one their HQ email address or phone number? Dont they check these forums for the issues.

i got the same god dang issue. i have a Samsung GS2 4G (Boost Mobile) the battery doesn't last much at all, 4-5 hours & it'll be down to 10% . worse thing is..i dont even have service on my phone (as of right now) i manually turn off the Wifi from the settings menu & when i turn the screen on, the wifi is connected again! gahhhh!!!

This seems to be a common problem with each major OS upgrade. Android leaves behind system files from the old OS that can sometimes cause problems. There are two things you can do to improve battery life. The first is to always do a full reset after upgrading. This is a pain in the you know what, because you have to restore your screens and apps. Don't restore from a backup program because it might put some of the old system files back on your phone. Nine times out of ten doing a reset solves the battery drain problem. If it doesn't then do a Google on how to clear the system and davlik caches for your particular phone model. Usually, it's something like this: you turn the phone on while holding the volume key either up ro down or up and down at the same time until a menu appears. On the menu you first navigate using volume keys to the clear system cache and select it with power button. Then navigate to clear davlik and select it. After that hold down power button and restart phone. This procedure will clear all the junk out of the phone from the old OS that's hiding deep in the system's recesses and certainly should solve the battery drain issue.
