I also have note 10.1 and the same battery problem, that is when I attach the charger it states it IS CHARGING, but even after 10 hours it has not increased even 1% !!
I changed charger, still the same problem. FIRST, why doesn't SAMSUNG tell us what the problem is. Don't they know? If they don't then they should give us a nice refund for finding this problem and SOLVING IT for them !! Hear me SAMSUNG??
Anyway now to solve it : if you have the exact same trouble try following ...
when you attach the charger look at the battery icon, bottom left of your screen. If it shows green and charging (a white flash sign) FORGET IT, it says it is charging but it is NOT, change the plug around and do this until the battery icon shows GREEN and red cross (like it is not working)... in that way IT IS MOST PROBABLY CHARGING. Check the %, leave it for a while and check again. It should have increased!! VERY strange but it works for me.
Good Luck. Let me know if it does work for you.

Had same issue solution really simple. Took my to store and they showed me how to fix it. Press and hold the power button and down volume button at the same time and it will begin repair. Once the repair process has finished try charging and all fixed. They said it was a common ish problem but only recently got the info to fix it. Mine works fine now and only took 5mins.
:D

I have the same problem, the "power + down volume" does not fix it. It loads to Custom OS page, not repair. Anyone solved this problem successfully yet?

I Have the same problem and my note is still under warranty. I sent the note 10.1 to samsung to be repaired only to receive a letter saying that (A Nova, an outsourced repair company) were looking ?47 to fix this. I explained that it was still under warranty and they said it was because the plastic cover was missing from the infrared at the top of the device(which wasnt missing missing when posted)
I explained that this wasn't missing when i had sent the device and that i wasnt paying the money for the part that they broke or damaged during shipping. I explained that i still wanted the battery issue fixed but they would not go ahead because the warranty was void due to the missing plastic. By this stage i was absolutely fuming and went back and forth between samsung and these thieves a novo but was getting nowhere, so i told them to send the device back and when i received it i noticed my 32gb sd card was missing...
I got onto the phone again to them and they informed me that it had to be destroyed under the data protection act, they said that i should have been informed by the samsung adviser(which i definitely wasnt, i also recently got married with alot of pictures and videos on the card) I will be phoning samsung tomorrow with a big complaint, can this be taken further as i am so mad at the way its been handled.
The battery issue developed after i upgrade from GB to ICS, since then the battery has been draining and draining to the point where i cant get it turned on. I have changed the cable, charger, and done a factory reset to no avail...has anyone got a solution to this mega rich companies pathetic fault?

I have been a samsung customer for a long time, TV, Phone, Laptop and tablet and i will never purchase another thing again from the company

Hi,
I'm new and started having this problem today. My note wasn't charging, also normally when it charges the charger would get warm, however it wasn't getting warm when it wasn't working. Then I came across your post, I did as you said it came up with a screen that asked about installing a custom OS so I pressed the volume button down to left which is what it indicated to cancel the custom OS it then reboot and is recharging as we speak so THANKSSSSSSSS ...... by the way the charger is warm again! :)

Just got my note 10.1 and I'm happy to say the battery has been phenomenal. It updated twice to get to 4.1.2 and I couldn't be happier. I've been punishing it all day for example and I'm at 75% right now.

I had this problem for ages after a couple of months I finally found a solution and its really simple all you need to do is hold the home button and the volume down button for about 5 to 10 seconds then hold the power off button aswell after that time and your device should turn off then when I rebooted it it had 71 percent charge compared to the 2 percent I had before hope this works for you !

Got the same issue on Galaxy Tab 10.1
It seems that after upgrade to ICS the device got hyper-sensitive to quality of charging current i.e. It won't charge from chargers and/or notebook usb which it did before the upgrade.
Took it back to the shop, they suggested hard reset with complete device wipe (invoked from settings).
Then they tried their own charger and - voila it did charge well. I tried my (original Samsung) one to no efect. So i got the charger replaced with fresh new unit - and it works.
Conclusion: I'm pretty sure ICS upgrade is the culprit. Not so sure what is requred to solve the issue, i.e. is the reset & wipe necessary or not. But for sure I would start from getting a new original charger - and would even try several of them (at least two) since the very original one failed whilst the very same make but different unit worked just fine. And would refrain from upgrade to ICS in the first place. Bloody bastards in Samsung that they leave the issue (introduced by their new SW) unresolved for so long - the device now charges just fine (and battery capacity is also ok) but can't use the charging sources other then just one (so for instance the external battery I used before is now good for nothing).

I had the same issue, but my note has been repaired with the power + volume down button combo. Now I can charge my tablet in regular time and the charger warms again! Thanks for the help!

Re: Charging it up-side-down..!?!

My note 10.1 just started to have the same problem a few days ago, the battery doesn't seem to charge up at all. When the device is turned off and the charger plugged in, the screen shows the device is charging, but turning it back on I soon realise the battery % hasn't changed at all!
It automatically updated to Jellybean a few days ago and coincided with this malfunction.

Strangely though, I found if the device stood vertically and charged with the USB connector on the top, my note charged fine. Would you guys try this out? Of course mine could be just a connector issue
but if someone else also finds the same then it would be a common fault somehow related to the
new update.
