Battery just drained very quickly, weird

I can see maps running on mine when the GPS trys to get a signal on where I am. I just close it or leave it open and my battery life seems to be ok. I will however keep an eye on it.

Mine is showing about 18 hours. Going to completely drain it and see how it responds after a charge. I have advanced task killer running as well as juice defender.

Stop running task killers!!!

My god, you must know by now that task killers haven't been need since android 1.3. They actually cause more battery usage, not less.

Yes, icebike is for real. Unless you root and completely remove (or freeze) some of these bloatware apps you killing them will shut them down and they will just reopen. This will drain your battery quicker than just letting the app hangout in the background.

Is that any different than GO Power Master or BetterBatteryStats? Or even just the stock ICS app?

Not sure of how it compares to the two aftermarket apps you mentioned but it is different from the stock app. I've attached a screen shot (and it goes on for another screen or two showing all processes running).

I discovered it when I, like folks are talking about here, all of a sudden started draining my battery quickly. I didn't tell me how to fix it, but when I saw that app xyz was eating xx% of my battery I uninstalled and reinstalled and problem solved.

Exactly right. Even in the best circumstances you gain 4 percent, but most users actually see less battery life.

Have not had any rapid battery drains since I unloaded app killer, did a hard reboot and let the battery completely drain. Time for another day of moderate use to see how she holds up.

I just lost about 40% in one hour while I had the phone in in my pocket. Rebooted and haven't lost almost any battery since then. I have BettetBatteryStats and GO Power Master, but neither seems to identify anything useful. Not good.

Another good power consumption day. It would appear I have solved my issue. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

The problem is that these issues seem intermittent - most of the time the battery is OK but sometimes it drains very quickly, at the worst possible moment of course.

With my LTE coverage and dual cores I am now getting equivalent battery performance to my iPhone 4 and my Nokia Lumia 900. Since I did all of the above I have had no more battery drain issues.

just happened to me again last night / this morning. rebooted as always fixed it. the battery drain was accompanied by warmth at the top 15% of the phone. no tasks or processes appeared to be running out of control.

I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone, but I just got my One X last night. I conditioned the battery by charging it to full with the phone off. I setup my phone/downloaded my apps and shut the phone off at about 95% battery. When I turned the phone on this morning, the battery was at 8%.

Any ideas? I'm confused lol

That's very weird. Maybe your phone hasn't been able to calibrate the battery yet - try letting it drain fully and then charge it up fully.

This has happend to me twince on my One X. Both times I noticed that it was indicating 4G LTE. I had heard that LTE can (seem) to eat up battery power, but since im not real a tech guy I won't comment on if this is true or not. This is simply what I observed on my phone.

I turned on airplane mode and it seemed to stop the drastic battery drain. Putting on airplane mode stopped the drastic drain, but this is clearly not a solution, only brings the issue to a a halt.

Thoughts?
