Battery just drained very quickly, weird

Egon, there is an issue with the LTE radio when it loses signal and then regains it.

It seems to occur only when the signal is lost for an extended period of time. Basically, the way I noticed it (and some others) was by commuting. I ride a subway train to work - after I get out, and the phone regains signal, sometimes it goes into this battery drain mode.

This only happens with LTE. If I disable LTE (by using a different APN that only connects to HSPA+), this issue goes away.

A bunch of folks from XDA also documented this issue, and we submitted it to HTC. We'll see if it gets resolved, but it's incredibly annoying. My current workaround is to put the phone into Airplane Mode when going into the subway. If I forget to do this, I have to restart the phone afterwards.

Mine did that too and I ended up calling HTC and ATT; HTC admitted a known problem w/ models w/ a serial number begining HT23XXXXXX or HT24XXXXXX (mine was a HT24) HTC recommeded I get a replacement through my carrier (or send to them for a repair). I just got my replacement from ATT and it has a serial number of HT26XXXXXXX so I think it might be brand new and not refurbished (altough no guarantee). My new one is fine and doesn't have the wifi issues I was experiencing also.

ANDROIDinOZ, what is the phone number you used to call HTC? My device is HT25XXX... I am curious to see if my radio issue is fixed in HT26.

it happen to me yesterday... unplugged the phone @ 6am by 7:30am i was @ 65% without touching the phone...i spoke to a att agent via live chat, there sending me a replacement within 6 business days....*fingers crossed*

My phone has been doing this the last couple days. I had it totally restored back to factory about a month ago. The wallpaper picture was strobing on & off. It has been doing well but still getting HOT. Now, even with the mobile data turned off, the battery drained to 0% within 2 hours this afternoon. ARGH!!

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I'll have a lot of battery life, not use it at all, one day I had even shut down everything but basic phone/text ability, and it will be completely dead next time I look at it. Within an hour or two, from 2/3 battery, to dead as a door nail. At&t rep basically told me I had to get a new phone, since the battery is internal. Haven't decided what to do yet, it's still under contract they wont let me upgrade yet...
