battery life after 4.3 update? how is it?

Hrm, that disable button is grayed out for me. Did you have to do something to make that button active?

No. Mine was not greyed out. No noticeable battery savings yet having DM disabled. Gonna go ahead and leave it this way for awhile anyway.

I received the update last night. Today is my first day off charger and I too noticed it went down to low 90's 1% or 2% at a time faster than it had before. I had looked several times over an hour or so and saw this. I remember the battery acted like this when I first got the One then it seemed to stabilize several days later. Im hoping that the same will happen. Please let us know if you do the reset and whether it helps. 8 hours later and minimal use has me at 82% and I in a weak signal area (wifi only so far).

I got my update on Friday. I kept putting it off because I was concerned about the aftereffects. I have noticed no difference in battery life. I haven't had it on the charger since yesterday and it's at 87%. I've been playing games and reading too. This reminds me of the Tbolt days. I guess I got lucky then too because I never had the problems that a lot of people reported. Still blown away with the One.

Seems like the battery sensor is just off...because when it dropped rapidly from 100% to 90%, it stabilized, then stayed at 86% for what seemed like an eternity even while using it. Literally stayed at 86% for about 4+ hours. Battery life total seems fine, just seems like my percentage indicator is off at times. Oh well, i think this will stabilize over time.

Are you all using some sort of battery saver app? Even before the latest firmware upgrade my battery still went pretty fast. Some of you talk about your phone being at only 87% even after a day off use. I unplugged my phone from the charger just 4 hours ago and I'm already down to 67%.

I don't use any saver apps. Screen is on auto-brightness. I use WiFi when I'm at home. Everything is stock.

I tried "battery doctor" but my jury is still out as to any actual benefits. Free app tho can't lose anything by trying it out. Reviewers rave about it.
FWIW, my battery seems to be getting better day by day so maybe its just stabilizing. Might take some time.
EDIT: forgot to mention last night it ran down to 10% before I plugged it in for the night and so far this morning it seems improved.

If you have Goolge+ in your device, you may want to try changing settings to allow uploads/sync only while charging. G+ was eating up a lot of processor time before I did this, while the phone was running off of battery power. I checked this out by utilizing System Panel app set on monitoring. After this change--and it's always hard to know for sure what makes the difference--battery life improved a great deal.

Pretty noticeable difference for the better today. Been unplugged since nine hours ago and down to 78%. Yesterday at this time I had around 30%, although I did have some Pandora time yesterday also and none today. The big thing I noticed is standby time is not draining battery like before so I'm really starting to think the DM(device manager) is a possible issue when active. Ive disabled the battery saver app as of last nite because I think it wasn't helping after all and I've left the DM disabled. I'm now wondering if the DM being disabled is helping or also maybe just having the battery more settled since the update might be a factor. Either way I'm going to leave it this way for now and see.
I also have google plus disabled since day one since I do not use it as referenced above as another possible culprit.

I've uninstalled my battery saver (battery xl) and everything seems back to normal. I can now also shut off mobile data when using WiFi.

So I've been trying to keep an eye on it. I see a lot of people talking about midday charging and keeping it on a charger, I tried, I really did, I used to get 18+ hours everyday. With what I thought was pretty heavy use now I'm lucky to get 10 or 12. Not sure how much the update has to do with that but not having a removable battery sucks. Being the HTC fanboy that I am I hate to knock them but this is silly. Other complaints include widgets now take you to the menu instead of turning on or off airplane mode, and Wi-Fi. What's the point of the widget? Silliness.

Mine tanked until I did a factory reset back to normal so far...which is good

let me know if that helps with battery life...one weird thing i noticed is my battery life drops dramatically right after charging. Goes from 100% to 91% with absolutely no use in a matter of 10-15 minutes... then after that it stabilizes and goes back to normal sort of. Does anyone else notice this issue? I'm trying to see if it is just mine or if I should do a factory reset (which i would like to avoid).
Just noticed this for the first time today. I always charge mine overnight, but today I charged it untill the light turned green and unplugged and it went down to 93% in about 2 minutes. After doing some searching it appears that the 4.3 update shows 100% before its really charged all the way. I guess leaving it on the charger for another 30 minutes to an hour will make sure that its really at 100%

I updated last night, while on the charger, at 100%. After all the reboots, I was down to 99%; I let it charge back up to 100%, left it on the charger for another 10-15 minutes, then pulled it off and left it unplugged overnight. I was still at 100% six hours later, and drain with use has been normal. No complaints here!

After the initial hit (decrease) I took after the update, things seem to have improved / normaled.

Will be resetting in the next day or so to hopefully resolve the huge battery drain since the 4.3 update. Will let you all know. Battery Doctor helps a little, but it's still bad.

Well I factory reset shortly after the update cause Swype was lagging and missing words cause it was so slow responding. It's not much better, but as for battery I'm at 10% after almost 23 hours. I'm using it to write this post. Before the reset I thought I was seeing a decrease, I was really concerned that the battery performance was declining. Now it's feeling like when I first got the One.

My battery life has gone down significantly after the 4.3 update. It's been almost two weeks now since the update and I was hoping for it to improve but I can't seem to last 8 hours on with this update... I'm planning to give it a factory reset once I back everything on my pc. Hopefully the reset will help improve the batterys life...

I finally decided to do a hard reset to see if that helped improve battery life, and it's the difference between night and day. Before factory reset with 4.3 battery would drain in 6-8 hours. After the reset, the battery is down only to about 90% after 6-7 hours. Drastic difference.

Also, all of the major lag problems I encountered went away after the reset. However, once I encrypted my phone (have to do this for work), the lag came back on the facebook app, but luckily nowhere else. I can live with that.
