Battery Life = Bad

I just picked up my rooted optimus S about 4 days ago. I am getting ready to leave out of the country for a few days so I am trying to have this thing completely set up and ready to go since I wont be near internet all the time to troubleshoot and look up problems.

I have the phone completely setup and how I want to use it but now the battery is only lasting about 5 to 6 hours tops before I need to charge it.

I am on Reborn.

I just download ATK but have no clue as to how to use it other than just hit the button that kills all apps but i am not sure if thats right.

What should i get rid of or run to help optimize my battery life. I would like at least 12 hours if possible.

i have the widget but dont really use it....i will gladly get rid of facebook on my phone period if it will drastically change my battery life

The easiest battery saver I have found was toggling off mobile data when not needed. I don't understand the need for atk with froyo.

ATK is not needed. Every time you kill apps with it they they will restart. Which drains battery.
Facebook drains battery too. I keep mine frozen with TB pro. So it can not run.
Make sure you don't always have radios running if not using. Ex: turn off data and GPS if not using.
EV at top stands for EVDO which is 3G.
ALSO if you are running Reborn 2.1 there is a updated Reborn 2.2.1

Ok i got ride of ATK and got watchdog lite instead which seems better....

What is TB??

How do i toggle my DATA and GPS on and off??

How do i know what version I am running and where is the update???

haha I am so sorry for being annoying with all the stupid question but like i said I dont have much time to get this phone running right.

TB=Titanium backup (pro) I have pro.
To turn data on & off you need to download a data switch (free).
To turn off GPS, wi-fi & Bluetooth just pull do the notification bar and you will see the switches there. (On Reborn)
To see version goto settings, about phone then build version. You can get the update in the same spot you got the original Reborn 2.1.
Just put it on the root of SD card and flash it like you already did with the first one

I was running juice defender, and after a little experimenting, I noticed that it was better with out it.

BlackOps is right about the data switchs, just go to the market and look up mobile data switch. Simple fix. If you decide to switch to aospCMod or Scott Pilgrim CM7 the notification power control is customizable, so you could directly add the mobile data switch there, without the need of additional apps. That is ultimately why I stuck with cyanogen, I liked the custimization level. aospCMod is what I am with for now and is very smooth. With my data off (except when I want it which is a bunch during a given day) I will only use like half my battery a day and that is like 16-18 hours off the charger.

Dont get me wrong, reborn rocks, just giving you another choice.
