Battery Life depletion

Hi,

After what appears to be the May 1st 2019 update (ver. G930FXXU5ESD2), my battery life appears to be atrocious. The phone will last maybe 3 hours at most on its battery before dying. It used to last around a full day before needing a charge.

Anyone have any tips as to what this could be. I've tried:
- Clearing the partition cache pre-boot.
- Uninstalling and viewing the Device Maintenance > Battery section for any misbehaving apps, but none are listed.
- Limiting background processes to at most 4 processes, but doesn't help in any way.

What's odd is, I can barely charge the phone from my PC's 3.1 Red Type A port. Previously, it charged at a fair pace

I'm almost certain this is planned obsolescence.

There's no "planned obsolescence". I'd guess that either the update glitched, there's a bug in the update or your battery chose the time you got the update to go bad. How low do you allow it to discharge before charging it? Lower than 40%?

What makes you so sure?

Yeah, I would believe that except bugs rarely impair performance over outright error or crashes, it would be a first that I've saw, personally. I've tried discharging to 0 and recharging fully due to this problem, but I don't let it reach below 30-40% if I can help it, on a normal use basis. I know it isn't good to deplete the battery and charge cycles should be preserved.

The only thing I haven't tried is factory resetting it, or flashing it.

Well, I managed to fix the battery depletion for now.

It turns out after clearing the cache, I got a notification icon in the Play Store to update a ton of apps. After I updated them I restarted the phone and all appears to be a lot better. The phone only use 5% overnight which is what is was like before.

Also, the noticable lag when using apps and general navigation seems to have gone. No idea what was causing it but its fine now. I also installed Accubattery to monitor the battery more. Seems to be helping.
