Battery Life discussion thread.

05:30 is when I power up my phone's to 9pm when it's powered down overnight and placed on charge when I retire to bed.

My N10+ 5G shows at 6 to 7hours screen on time with juice left in the tank in those usage times.

As long as my Note 20 Ultra at least matches that I'll be happy.

Total Time: 14 hours and 31 minutes
- Optimized Battery Mode
- Brightness: 90% Manual
- Color Mode: Vivid with color temp set cooler
- Haptic Touch Enabled
- Haptic Typing Enabled
- Always On Display enabled for tap to show
- Light Theme
- Ringer/Notification on about 50% Volume
- Mostly on WiFi during that day.
- Snapdragon 865+ Global Unlocked Model
- Phone setup clean with no app backup.
- Currently on August Security Patch

This day involved no gaming. I don't really game. About 25-30% of that screen on time was watching videos. The other 70-75% was social media, internet browsing, and messaging.

As you can see several settings were turned on and turned nearly to the max. I could likely get 8 hours of Screen On Time over 15-16 hours with a Dark Theme, and 50% brightness, medium power mode, and all vibrations off.

All I've done so far is used WhatsApp for 2minutes, browsed chrome and checked Facebook. Am on 93% after 45 mins.

This is my lowest battery life with 120hz, SOT over 8hrs plus haven't charged over 24hrs lol.

Do you have and use the Facebook app? I'm starting to wonder if thats part of the issue for me.

Facebook app and messenger are notorious for battery drain

Hello. Im new member from Slovenia. Yesterday i recived my note 20 ultra exnos version 256 gb, 12 RAM and battery is really really bad. In my country i cant return phone so i must live with it, if there would be other way i would send it back already.

So, yesterday i set my phone and at 00.01 am it was on 100% and i went to bad. In 5h of sleeping i was on 95%, than i start to use phone and now is 1 pm (so 13h after charging) and im on 2,5h SOT and 35% left. I played 1h game, some browsing, playing with phone. My signal at home and in work is pretty bad is always just 1 out of 4 lines at 4g nad i use 120hz with optimizated performance.

I watched alot of YT videos, check forums...and as i see average SOT is around 5-7h for exynos, and even more for SD version.

Also phone is getting hot during games and also a bit warm when i browsing or watching YT.

I would be happy with 5-6h SOT.

Did i miss something or exynos version is crap?

I think around 3 - 5 % overnight is around what most of my devices lose.

I've been looking at this thread for less than 4 minutes and my battery already dropped 3 percent. This is is with medium battery set up. Something is draining my battery quick. Is 5G power hungry?

Are you even accessing 5G? I'm on wifi and 4g exclusively

Yup I have 5G throughout the city. Speeds can be mediocre to great depending on where im at.

Yeah, I got way better battery life on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. But iPhones are always optimized for battery life.

I don't know how you guys are getting great battery life with 120Hz enabled. I had to turn it off because I saw my battery life going down right before my eyes.

I wish I didn't have such poor signal at work. My battery life isn't great. Definitely worse than my Note 10+ too.

Hi and Welcome to the forum. Exynos is known to be inferior in both battery life and performance compared to the Snapdragon 865+.

Also a few reviewers have mentioned the phone getting hot in normal use.

I am sorry you can't return it if you are so unhappy with it.

So far new cycle at 80% and over 2hrs SOT Can't Complaint 120hz is Awesome.

Are you getting a lot of notifications or messages? Normally I lose about 5-7% overnight and I believe that's due to the amount of messages and/or notifications from other apps.
