Battery Life discussion thread.

Smart switch from a Note9. That's also in my list of culprits. If after a few more tweeks and it doesn't help, I'm going to try a fresh reset and install my apps via the play store manually.
I probably need to go this myself. I charged my phone at 3 am and by 11 am I was at 40% . I don't think I should have been at 40% so soon. Will start my long set up process tomorrow.

I'm guessing you probably don't have many apps installed on your phone that run in the background.

I notice with mine when I use Whatsapp, it makes the battery go down fast, but if I use anything else it drains slow.

Maybe , but do remember i'm on AT&T and lots of bloatware that cant be uninstalled run in the background, but i use youtube, telegram, samsung browser , lots of msm text, instagram , twitter, XDA

i see that device care is not showing the right stats they add it yesterdays stats with today so doing that will show you more SOT but for today it should show you less SOT i suggest you get GSAM Pro that will actually not split your screen on time and give you the right SOT.
I have gsam. I honestly don't know how to read any of this.lolScreenshot_20200825-195005_GSam%20Battery%20Monitor%20Pro.jpeg

I don't have network mode. Att must won't let us toggle it off. Thanks though.

Ours is different so don't worry about it AT&T is Automatic , If your in a 5G Area it will show, But if your not in 5G area it's off automatically no worries your battery won't get effected

I don't know how you guys are getting great battery life on your N20Us because mine was terrible. I had to gimp everything in order to get any life out of the battery. I had to turn off 120Hz, location, turn down the display brightness, use dark mode...I got so sick of it that I returned it today and went back to my iPhone 11 Pro Max. At least I don't have to worry about the battery life on that phone.

Is the 5G modem a power suck?

Sorry hear that , I just responded to you in the other thread .

Right. Today 5g is off. Dark mode will be on. Put more apps to sleep. 96hz enabled. Let's see if any difference. I doubt it hugely but here's hoping.

Wow amazing battery life with the 120hz it's still fantastic over 9hrs 26min SOT.

Very early days for me just yet.
Received the phone Monday 24th direct from Samsung UK.

I have the Exynos N20 Ultra in the Uk.
120Hz adaptive refresh rate is On.
Dark Mode.
Brightness around half way.
Battery on Optomise setting but not adaptive.
Screen time out 2 minutes.
I don't have lots of apps as I only use a select few to be honest.
Any google apps / services I remove or disable especially Google Chrome.
5G turned Off as I can't use it anyway with my Carrier.
Installed back up from Samsung Cloud and Apps from Playstore My Library.
I have put some apps to sleep and some to deep sleep which is what i did also on my N10+ 5G. Habit really !!

I use a burner sim card at first when setting up my new phone's and keep my previous phone as my daily driver while I'm taking my time tweaking my new phone's settings and preferences.

I've read a few posts from people who said they could see the battery % drop even when not doing anything on the phone.

So I charged the phone to 100% and left it sat there with mobile data , Bluetooth, nfc On and WiFi Off.

From 05:30 to 18:00 it went from 100% to 96% which I think is reasonable as notifications and background activity is still happening.

I give my phones around 10 days to fully learn and optimise.

Charging and discharging the battery will help the battery reach optimum output.

Stay safe.

6 hours SOT for 12 hours use, 100% to 15%. Not too bad, but not N10+ numbers for me. Granted, I made a point of using a variety of things and doing stuff on my phone I wouldn't every day because I'm still learning the phone and playing with stuff.

It is an improvement and yesterday wasn't too bad either. I miss when you could neatly judge after charging to 100%, today I made a point of starting full and watching before I plugged in.

I have adaptive brightness, optimized battery with adaptive power saver enabled, adaptive refresh, and today was a good mix of WiFi and my not so great AT&T network connection. Plus, today included the August security update.
