Battery Life discussion thread.

3h and 5m SOT so far with 29% battery left. Used Spotify less today. I might be lucky and get 4 hours. Lol

To be honest, I think it's really hard to compare each others SOTs because everyone uses their phone differently. SOT seems to just indicate screen on time, but nothing about what the phone is actually doing other than having the screen on. For example, I think watching videos uses far less battery than playing a game, transcoding or editing video, taking video/pictures - but SOT will all show the same for all those activities. I always wondered why SOT is so glorified as a system of measurement. True, it obviously takes much battery to have the screen on - but there are so many levels of SOT that differ in battery consumption that I don't think alone is useful enough to measure.

Your absolutely 100% correct , that is why not everyone is gonna get the SOT i have , very good point.

After a week I average around 6 1/2 hrs SOT. Not the best but gets me through the day.

True, the measurement of SoT you can really only compare to your own previous figures, however, it's still an interesting discussion as we can learn from each other about tips for making it better

Remember, you have a 4500 mah battery in the note ultra.
So when its down to 90%.
You still got 4000 mh left.

That's a lot.

How many mah did you have in your other phone ?
Compare the battery strength to that.
Not that 90% is all you got left.

For instance i use Package Disabler Pro to disable theses bloatwares i don't use at all so they don't run in the background AT&T Note20 Ultra, this could help some, just tho i share

I have adaptive battery saving turned on but even after I fully recharge my phone the medium power saver stays active. Any help is appreciated.

For thowe that cant switch 5g to different bands. Wouldn't samsung band selector allow you to do that?

Yes but a lot of people are comparing their SOT with their precious phone.

Couldn't have said any better

I had a Samsung S20 Ultra, I have always on lock screen on for time and notifications. I normally have about 15 to 25% after about 13 hours of my normal usage, with the same settings on the Note 20 Ultra after a week I am consistently dying after about 12 hours, I turned the AOD off and now I’m getting about the same as the S20 with it on, so the smaller battery is definitely making a difference.

1 week in, SOT over 4 hours with 50 percent battery left. Busy business professional with phone calls, texts and 3 email accounts averaging 125 emails per day. 120hz

I'm sure there will be a few updates coming soon enough to get better and more consistent battery life but I'm happy enough as it is with up to 8-9 hours SoT,.
Standby time does seem to be suffering a good bit though compared to the Note 10 plus 5G.
I just can't get myself to switch to 60hz now, it would also kinda defeat the purpose of upgrading.

That's very good for the Fisher Price chip! I got 3hrs SOT with 55% battery left, been doing all sorts from camera to video, notes, emails, web browsing, everything really. It's my first day with the sim in the Note 20 Ultra today. I think this phone is definitely worse on battery than the 10+ for me but not by a lot.
