Battery Life discussion thread.

It really was the worst "fix" they ever made. I hate it. I never had battery monitoring apps before because I was always told they are intrusive and end up suckling up battery, but it's really the only way to monitor my usage based on how I use my phone.
I know, I agree

Well I'm done doing battery life test all i can say on 120hz battery life is outstanding, i will now stop posting my battery life lol .

I have gotten much better battery life by turning off the 5g and just using 4Glte on t-mobile, with 5g on I was getting like 5 hours and 20 minutes of Screen on time.

Going to do my first "actual" usage charge. I still have 15%. I'm glad that it got me through the day. I was worried after I saw a few video reviews. Though, after seeing others battery life on here, I really shouldn't have been. I hope it gets better, even still over today.

How did you do this?

On the t-mobile phones we can choose what network connection we prefer, go to settings then connections then mobile networks and Switch from 5g to 4glte, some providers don't give you the option to choose tho.

I have to say, I haven't been getting the best battery life compared to my Note10+. And unfortunately, I am stuck with the N20U for the foreseeable future.

I remember having battery drain issues last year early on with the N10+, and after a couple of factory resets nothing changed. I also remember there was an update from Samsung/AT&T that seemed to fix the issue, within a month or so.

I would like to hope the same will be true this year with the N20U. I am barely getting through 18hr days. For those that put weight on SoT, I am only getting 6hrs SoT on average. With my N10+, I was easily getting 21+ hrs a day with an average of 7.5 SoT.

I only transferred texts, and call logs when I setup my N20U. All apps, settings, and notifications were all setup from scratch.

I have seen a steady decline with my N20U in both SoT and general Battery life during the day. My worst days were about 5hrs SoT with hitting 30% by 3pm (taken off the charger at 6am). I used to be able to hit 30% by 5, sometimes 6pm on my N10+, and that's with working out in the field and hitting client sites and using my phone for work. Now that I'm home, I am getting worried that the battery life will only get worse when I start going back to sites.

Whats even more worrisome, is I got this with the outlook that, I won't pick up another device for at least the next 2, maybe 3, years.

I really hope this improves, but having this since the 19th, it has already "learned" my usage. So, I'm not sure it could get any better, or at least to the same as my N10+.

Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞.

Does it get you thru the whole day if so , then that's all that matters, SOT is nothing no more, as long as is gives you almost a day without charging then your good , just enjoy the phone, forget all that stuff about SOT.

Who is staying up 18 to 20 hr days

I do, more often than I should. The key here, is that I need my phone to work a certain way for ME. I am up by 5am, so my phone is usually off the charger as soon as I wake up. Unless it is charging while I am getting ready in the morning. I usually end up going to bed around 11pm or midnight. So instead of being tethered to a charger, I would like my phone to be with me and not be on the charger. When I've needed to go to customer sites that were more than 30 minutes away, I would plug it in, while I'm driving to the site, no big deal, but when I am constantly in and out, for 20 minutes at a time, it's not worth it to me to have to constantly plug in and unplug for those short stints.

It barely gets me through the day. I am not so high on SoT as most others are, but it's a little discouraging to have to charge back up by 3pm. Cycle wise, I can charge back up by 3pm, and then keep it off the charger until the next morning, but then I would be charging 2x a day. Not ideal for a device that is supposed to give you all day battery. I have chargers everywhere, so, am I worried about charging? No. But the fact that it's not living up to the last version, is still bothersome.

Battery life doesn't look good for me today. I even switched my phone's network mode so it wouldn't connect to 5G.

I agree battery life can get iffy in those situations, what I do is just get a wireless charger dock for my car. pop it in and it keeps charged while driving. I hate plugging and unplugging my phones.

I am still hoping they will push an update to give us better battery, Sammy is pretty good about that stuff.

Got you thru 12hrs and 12min without charging it then your SOT is 6hrs and 35min with 19% left on battery , i say it's definitely decent if got you thru 12 hrs no charging and with the SOT is good as well. So yes definitely decent battery life.
Good to know I can make it through a 12 hour work shift. It might last longer if I could stay off Facebook and Instagram.lol
