So I'm sure you've seen this kind of thread a billion and a half times but unfortunately the bad news keeps on going. Anyways my battery would not last more than 10 hours on a single charge. Yes I've done the usual battery saving settings like disable wifi, bluetooth, and GPS when not in use. Also my screen brightness is down to 30% along with Battery Saving Mode on (CPU and Screen saving options checked), all Syncing set to 2 hours and weather refresh set to 1 hour. And im also running stock 4.1.2. So idk Wtf is up with this stupid phone but since I bought this phone along with my second and third replacements, they've all had battery issues. I'm getting sick and tired of not being able to get through the day with one charge. I unplug at 6am and it's dead by 4pm with minimal usage. Here are my actual stats. And today it managed to die with a full charge and a half way recharge all within 17 hours. This is not the kind of battery life experience I was expecting from Samsungs flagship phones and especially since this is my first Android phone. I feel like giving this phone one more chance and replacing it. Hopefully this time it works as I do not plan to upgrade till the S5 comes out. But before all that, I'm hoping someone could solve my mysterious battery drain delema while also using the Battery Stats plus app which it did not report any battery drain issues. And as you can see from the screenshots below it went through a full charge and a half within 17 hours. I know, I can't believe it either. Not very happy so far.

**WARNING** USAGE STATS MAYBE SHOCKING TO THOSE EXPERIENCING GOOD BATTERY LIFE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED SO VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK!

It's always a mistake to recharge the phone before capturing the screenshots - makes it difficult to tell what really happened.

Based on the estimates that I had to make due to the additional charge cycle, I don't see anything out-of-the-ordinary. If you really expect longer battery life you can either try something like http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AK...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU3030258 or get an iPhone.

It sounds like you've tried a lot of things to improve battery life, but just in case, I suggest you look at these tips: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...how-tos/298919-guide-battery-saving-tips.html

If you haven't already, try installing Wake Lock Detector to see if anything is causing the phone to wake up too frequently.

Your screen-on time of 4 hrs 6 min, although not great by any means, isn't ridiculously abnormal. As a comparison, my original Razr Maxx (with the mammoth battery) gives me a total screen-on time of 5-6 hours with mixed real-world use.

I get about 12 hours of use, and maybe 3 hours of screen time. I would love to get what you are getting.

Thanks for suggesting that app to me, it's very informative and according to it, com.facebook.katana is what keeps waking up my phone. What is it and is there any way to remove it?

It's Facebook: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...details?id=com.facebook.katana&token=NrEafpAF - it doesn't even rate a 4.0 in the Google Play Store; I would recommend ditching that sooner rather than later.

Edit: and as Golfdriver noted, anything around 12-15 hours of total time, with ~3 hours of screen on time, leaving you around 15% of battery remaining, is considered good for this phone.

Try going into Facebook's settings and change the refresh rate to manual.

I'll see how changing the Facebook refresh interval to manual impacts my battery life and will report back with the results tomorrow. Thanks for all your help and suggestions guys. Greatly appreciated.

I definately would be interested in knowing how it works out.

So this is my usage stats today with wifi off, LTE on all day, and CPU power save off. Is this considered good for heavy usage? I feel like it is because I would have this kind of usage stats if I turn LTE off and CPU power save on. And also changing the Facebook refresh interval to manual helped alot but I still don't know why the wake trigger is still high.

Facebook is still a problem, just remove it. It's a bad app anyway, the programmers aren't good. I had to Uninstall it because I was having battery issues as well

Only problem is that there isn't a good alternative app in the Play Store :/

Most of the Awake blocks correlate directly to Screen (On) blocks, except for one odd group near the beginning. If you have access to Wi-Fi you should consider leaving that On rather than Off - it's much easier on the battery than 4G.
Frankly, I would have expected better battery life for 2 hours of screen on time in 7 hours of usage, leaving you at ~30%. What is the brightness level of the screen?
At a minimum you should uninstall Facebook and capture a similar duration and screen on time for comparison purposes.

My brightness is at 30% and I'll Uninstall it and compare my usage stats. But do you think I should just exchange the battery since I have a warranty?

No, that doesn't sound like the issue. However, if you want even better battery life, you could always order an extended battery.

So I can now say that the random battery drain has stopped thanks to disabling Facebook background sync interval, therefore my battery life has improved. Once again thanks for all your help and suggestions guys. Very much appreciated! :)

So this is my usage for today with moderate usage. Deleted Facebook 2 days ago, CPU and Screen power save ON, had LTE on all day with 1 to 2 bars and switching back and forth from 4G, wifi on, some light browsing and watched a couple of HD YouTube videos as well. I'd say my battery life has improved dramatically ever since I got rid of Facebook. I created a shortcut on my home screen that takes me to the mobile site as a replacement. You won't get push notifications of course but I'd rather give that up to improve my battery life and also my stats would have been even better if I turned LTE off since Im in a low coverage area but I want that faster data speeds when I go out. And here are screen shots of my usage stats so far today.
