Yes, the title is regarding Wear, but this is specific to the relationship it has with Pixel.

I've had the Huawei watch for several months now, and consistently by mid-evening I saw it at 30-40% when linked to my Nexus 6. This is my first full day with the Pixel XL, and with no changes on the watch and using it the same, right now I'm sitting at 74%.

So basically on the Huawei is consuming less than half the power it did on the Nexus 6 (presuming this continues) with the Pixel XL. Was there a change in the way Bluetooth operates between the 2 models? I'm loving the fact that I'll evidently easily be able to go 2 full days between charges in the watch now!

Did the Nexus 6 support Bluetooth 4 / LE (Low Energy)?

It could be operating on that more efficient standard perhaps? That really is the only thing that I could see standing out. Otherwise something different with how Doze works but I highly doubt that unless you aren't receiving all notifications right away.

It has Bluetooth 4.1 so should support it, and I have Android Wear exempted from battery optimization so Doze shouldn't be a factor.
