I live right at the edge (<-see what I did there lol) of T-Mo service. Ever since I flashed Froyo, I've actually been able to hold a data signal (2G) on the new radio. So today I decided to leave it on all day and put the battery life on trial.

The phone is stock Froyo system (rooted + busybox only) + pershoot kernel

After 14 hours and 43 minutes off the charger, fooling with it all day and data on I'm at 63% battery. Love it!

Which pershoot kernel? Found in rom manager?

Mine sucks... Could be because I have about 5 emails, always on twitter (refreshing constantly), web browsing, downloading/updating apps and using Live Wallpaper (just started using again with FroYo).

I'm on stock 2.2, and my battery life has improved significantly. Went from maybe 12 hours (if even) to getting between 14 and 16 hours today. When I plugged it in, it had a good 25% left.

My battery lasts all day but i want more! :p. 17hrs off the charger n 34% left. 2 hrs+ of actual usage (web, email, phone, map, installin apps). I'm trying this kernel now. Thanks for the link!
