Battery Life seems a consistent ding so far in reviews.

I'm 90 percent upgrading from my s7 for the increased battery life. If not I'll return. How many days would you guys give it to know whether to keep it or not?

The standby battery is actually not great on this phone, had the S8+ at the end of last year and I think the S9+ is slightly worse and the Oreo updates to restrict it just do not seem to work properly either, e.g. I have the Facebook app, services and app manager all set to not run in the background but they all continue to run anyway

My phone is currently draining at just over 2% an hour when sat doing nothing. Even with the AOD enabled the V30 and P2XL will run for almost 2 hours before dropping a single %

Since I'm also considering the V30, thank you for addressing my question about the standby time, as it's something I value as a lighter user. I assume you have the 64 GB variant, or the 128? How many GB of storage are available to the user out of the box? Are you experiencing any color shifting on the screen?

I have the 128gb S9+. no shifting, the screen on the Samsung is just better.

My phone drains 1%/hr with aod and syncing different things on. Without aid its 0.5%/hr and that's on 4g

I cannot complain with my S9+
I got more than 6 hours SOT on first charge.
Today after 12 hours out and more than 2 hours SOT, all with 4G, I still have 55% battery left.
By far much better than my S8. Even when in the S8 I have deactivated a a lot of things an the S9+ is all activated.

Yeah it's pretty much established the Exynos version will be fine. It's us 845 users who are worried

Until there is a phone that can get 2 days with moderate to heavy usage these battery life tests really mean nothing. I've yet to have a phone not last a normal days usage, regardless of what some reviewer said. Pretty much every phone on the market can last a day with moderate use. Even though Samsung doesn't have qc 4.0 20 min on the charger will still get you a few hours of usage.

I was just thinking, if this really does have mediocre battery life what does that say for all the other phones coming out with the 845 chip?

I keep getting tempted to get the S9+ but based on past experience with Samsung, knowing their software, and based on a couple comments by Andrew and Alex on the most recent podcast I just don't think I can do it. The battery life using it doesn't bother me too much because I've yet to have a phone I don't have to top off in the afternoon because I'm streaming audio all day long at work but if it is going to suck it down when I'm not using it and act up when I am. I think I'll hate it pretty quick.

Why are we not hearing anything from people who ACTUALLY have the device?

Edit: Scratch that. Reading reviews on Reddit. Reviews are mixed.

I have the exynos, battery is average not terrible but worse than v30 or 2xl. 2% an hour sitting on my desk doing nothing. And losing 10% overnight in flight mode and aod off.
Can you share your stats? It has to be an app draining the battery.

Overall I see very good battery without any adjustment.

Bluetooth is all an and connected to my smartphone and I leave NFC also on.

I'm considering the Mate 10 Pro as an option myself. How is the battery life and standby time on the regular Mate 10 with the QHD LCD screen, as opposed to the Pro with the 1080P AMOLED? Are you able to see the screen in direct sunlight? Finally, how is the audio through the headphone jack? Does it sound full and rich to you? I do like the fact that the fingerprint scanner is on the front of the phone on the regular Mate 10, as well as the headphone jack.

I've seen reviewers bash EMUI as being redundant. One thing I appreciate with EMUI and iOS, that they obviously ripped off, is the fact that you can view up to nine apps in a folder. I hate Android folders that only allow you to see four apps. The nine per folder just looks cleaner to me. Are you having issue with EMUI?

You might want to also check out the Honor View 10. Seems like Mate 10 pro without some of the features and a whole lot cheaper

i'm willing to bet that Samsung can improve standby time with a software update. We are still very early in the process and this is something they were doing very well at for the last couple of generations.

Still torn on keeping my pre-order, since battery life and standby time still are great with my 8+. Decisions....
