Battery life sucks since LTE?

When I got my phone there was a mix up where I only received a 3G (HSPA+) sim card and everything was fine. I would come home from school with a good 40-50% battery left in most cases. I swapped to an LTE sim after finding out I could get faster data and since then my battery life has been terrible. I come home with anywhere between 15-35%, never more. Is there a fix for this?

What carrier are you on?

Sent from my Sprint S3 using AC forums.

Actually I'm Canadian and my phone's settings look different from that... you don't need to add APN's or anything. Here's what you do...

Goto settings... more settings... mobile networks... network mode...

then choose the option that's one step below LTE. On my phone it says "GSM/HSPA (auto connect)"

That way you won't use LTE... you will be on HSPA and your battery will last longer again.

That's very helpful thank you. If you don't mind me asking though, are you rooted and what exactly did you do? I've been looking up checks on what to do to root a Canadian S3 and AT&T files would be enough.
