Battery life thread

Experiencing pretty good battery life here. I can unplug in the morning and go 1.5-2 days before charging again.

Was noticing poor battery life (1/2 a day) for a while, but I think that's because the phone was constantly searching for wifi. Once I properly set up the wifi access, my battery life problems went away.

Can you please elaborate on setting up the wifi properly?

As far as finding a percentage, you can go to the desk clock from the htc widget and it shows battery life

^^^ I don't know exactly what that means - can you give more details?
Where do I find this? I already use the flip clock display, and don't want to change that.
Thanks,
Suzie

Probably using Juice Defender (JD)- and or ZD box to control things a bit automatically- both are GREAT admin apps and a must have as far as I am concerned. JD automatically turns of WIFI when not is an area it can connect to , and when it can it automatically turns ff Cellular data (NOT the phone)
I can go almost 2 days

Has anyone who has had battery life issues exchanged their phone for another phone and had any luck?

I am starting to wonder if some Dinc2s might be defective in some way considering some people get absolutely amazing battery life,.while others, like myself get absolutely terrible battery life.

for the first couple of days i got crappy battery life, but that is to be expected because i was playing with my new phone... today i decided to actually see how much life i can get out of my battery with normal use. this is what i came up with so far:

8:20 AM - 11:52 AM
battery went from 100% to 75%

11:52 AM- 1:30 PM
battery went from 75% to 70%

1:30 PM - 4:24 PM
battery went from 70% to 63%
with light use (checking a couple of emails), 1 FB Upload, 5 texts (3 in 2 out), Lookout and battery status bar active, and live wallpaper (shadow galaxy, i adjusted the settings for more efficiency)

that's about 8 Hrs. my Previous phone the Droid incredible would be hovering around 40-30%

Just got my phone yesterday. I work nights. Coming from a.Droid x . I got 13hrs 12 min. Of moderate use on my first charge..No task killer or anything, just let the system do its thing.

It's so hard to determine what is good battery life in smartphones because there are so many factors that affect battery life. You can set 5 phones of the same type next to each other and all 5 will have different battery life.

I came from a Palm Pre Plus I was lucky to get through an 8 hour work day without charging it. My Dinc2 came off the charger this morning at 6:30 am it is now 1:30 pm and I am at 85%. I would say my use has been moderate. This phone has been easily making it all day until I go to bed at night without charging it. I would say if you are a moderate user and are getting much poorer results than something must be wrong.

I have been to two Verizon stores since I got my Dinc2 explaining I have a hard time making it through a day and they said it's normal with any Android device. Both offered be a product exchange to try another model but basically said it's a waste of time and that I would get the same results. So I may just return the phone in hopes the Bionics bigger battery will last longer with 4G turned off. I have until Wednesday to decide.

So I really think it's just a case of some people calling moderate use something much different than others.

I just went through a 17 hour day of moderate use and started my charge with 35% battery life remaining. Not as good as some others are reporting, but getting through a full day like this is good enough for me. The phone is still relatively new and I'm hoping that it will get better with time.

I'm hoping that it will get better with time.

I feel as though mine is. I can pretty much always make it through a day now, I didn't use the phone much yesterday but I was at 40% when I plugged it in and Sunday when I used the phone even less I was at 70%.

But for me an extended battery will be needed if I keep this phone. During a phone intensive day, I feel there will still be problems as 40% after what if light use for me, isn't great. Has anyone tried any of the extended batteries that fit with the stock door? The 1750, 1800, or 1900? I was thinking of giving the chichitech 1900 battery a try as it has gotten good reviews. However it just seems like one of those too good to be true things. I dunno why HTC wouldn't wanna put the largest possible battery in their phone that would fit right from the factory.

pretty sure, but i have to check when i get home, that i have those chichitec batteries at home..and they don't fit. too thick so the battery door just won't shut completely. i know for sure though that there is a mugen 1800 that fits as i use it all the time and i am pretty certain seidio's 1750 would fit perfectly also as i have always used theirs on other phones in the past.

Please take a look and let us know.

How is the mugen in comparison to the stock battery?

these are them right? yeah they don't fit. they don't allow the door to fully close. almost, but not completely.

Well from the comments posted on the front page everyone's incredible two batteries are much better than mine! Mine doesn't even last a whole day with heavy use. Not really even close, actually.

I am with you, although I usually make it a whole day, I am just cutting it too close, and sometimes not making it. However, I have spent many hours looking into this, and I think the answer is as simple as some people referring to usage (ex, light, moderate, heavy) in a much different way than others.

That could be. I also work in remote areas so it might spend more time looking for a signal than I am aware. But still, even in the city the battery goes fast
