Battery life vs pro max

It's early on but with 120hz enabled I don't feel the Ultras battery life can compare to my iPhone pro Max.

No but the iPhone battery is 3,174mAh as opposed to the 5000mah of the Ultra.

I have the 11 Pro Max and Ultra, have 120 Hz running and I think the Ultra can match the 11 pro max battery. Yesterday at home I got around 7 hs SOT with still 25% remaining. Granted it was at home, always on WiFi but was using the phone a lot and don't think other phones would have lasted that heavy usage. I have to still test out how it fares in outside conditions with varying signal strengths, poor signal etc. But whatever time I have had over the past few days hasn't made me think oh boy I miss the battery on my 11 pro max.

Takes a larger battery to run a device like what the S20 Ultra can do. Quad HD display, 120hz; and larger display. Customizable not locked down too.

Imagine if the S20 ultra only had 4 gb of ram, a 1080p 6.5 display, couldn't multi task, or keep apps open in the background like the "pro" max it would get even better battery life.. Comparing a iPhone to a flagship Galaxy is like a leap pad to a gaming laptop.

Valid point. I'm not an apple fan boy, I own a Fold and an Ultra but iMessage still keeps me sorta hooked.

Like you, I have them both. Think you will need to run 60 Hz to match battery life, but the 11 Pro Max has the best battery life on a phone I have ever had, the Ultra is doing better than my Note 10+ did and am running 120 Hz also, so pretty happy so far.

If you drop it to 60hz and disable a lot of background processes I'm sure the S20 Ultra would be significantly stronger than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I think it's a great battery and nothing to worry about.

A small V6 car gets better gas mileage than a full bodied V8 car too. That's about how this sounds to me. Give me the loaded full body with V8.

Correction the iPhone Pro Max battery size is 3,969mAh

just crossed 9hrs sot! very satisfied with the battery on my ultra. Prior to this the best battery life I ever had was an iPhone 8+ which was around 7hrs sot and a note 9 with about 5hr 30min.!

I have a s20 Ultra and 11 Pro Max. Battery life is better on my iphone, but as others have said it has less background tasks, less resolution (i don't use 120hz refresh, i like the higher res screen more). Plus, at the end of the day they're really hard to compare. My Ultra doesn't last as long as my 11 pro max, but it comes close enough where I don't really notice the difference.
