Battery life while traveling

So I have noticed a substantial drop in battery life while visiting Vegas this week. I attribute it to the fact that there are so many WiFi and cellular points it's really draining the battery. This morning i walked from Mandalay Bay down to the Bellagio which is about a mile and lost nearly 12%.

Unfortunately I had to resort to airplane mode and battery saver to keep enough battery for picture taking.

Anyone else notice this with the V20 or any other phone?

I don't bother with WiFi. Only to connect to a printer. But areas of spotty cell signal could certainly contribute to decreased battery life.

Unfortunately I didn't capture screen shots while it was happening. I ended up keeping my phone in airplane mode with battery saver turned on for most of the week.

It's hard to imagine that there is poor coverage on the Strip causing constant searching and drain. Which leads me to suspect that it is an app gone awry. Battery usage usage stats might point a finger at a particular app.

It definitely wasn't a coverage issue. I think it may have been all of the WiFi spots. I kept the apps closed. I thought maybe the Samsung S Health app was eating battery with all of the walking so I forced closed the app and put my watch in standalone mode.
